Use real life puzzles and riddles that you created yourself. Make sure their is only one logical solution to them.

Use all the acronyms to look smart, but do not tell others what they are. Sure people may know DMG and PHB, but they may not get you saying, "In LMoP I PVPd the DMNPC until the TMNTs showed and TPKd us." Hope they do not come back with TLDR.

Smash everything in town to look for treasure - important people hide gold in random stuff all the time.

Steal everything in town and sell it to the merchant to get more gold, then steal everything back and sell it to them again.
