AEG's Secrets. I bought it thinking it would add all sorts of juicy "secret society" stuff. Instead, I got a splat book with new classes and lots of pretty much useless to me ideas. It was not so much "secrets" as "Stuff people don't know yet". Gathering dust on my shelf.

I had the same experience with this one too, bummer considering the two Adventure Books by them can claim a spot in the other thread (most bang for the buck).

I also concurr with FFE's product. Not one word used out of the lot. Ever.

I love Monte's AE, but I bought AU about 10 days before I saw that this was released, and I... well... Why use AU when you can get AE? :P Oh well, AU gathers dust.

Yep, I picked up Treasure Quests super-cheap, and it was still a waste of cash. The maps are nigh useless (childish drawings, wacked-out scale, etc.) I don't even know where to begin listing the problems with the actual text. Ugh.

Let's make that 3 for the gigantic piles of doo-doo that was 95% of everything FFE put out.

It was just after 3rd ed came out & I wasn't used to so much being available, so I bought Rings of Power (that was the 1st one, wasn't it).

When I fianlly got through reading it I said "That's was a useless piece of (grandma filter activated), there's no way they could release something this bad again."

So I bought the next FFE book that came out.

Same load of organic fertilizer.

I'm ashamed to admit I bought the 1st 5-6 products they released on the idea that they'd eventually get better.

I was wrong (though they did have 1 or 2 towards the end I picked up in the discount bin that were OK, a fews pennies in 20 metrics tons of horse-pucky is not a good investment).

Fool me once, shame on you; fool me 6 times.... God I was an Idiot.

This is part of the reason that even though my disposable income has gone up 2,000% or so since 3rd ed came out my actual gaming spending has actually decreased by 50%.

I've been burned way too many times. I'm very careful on what I buy anymore & have only made 1 impulse gaming purchase in the last year (Gygax's Book of Names from Trollord; I suck at coming up with names).

Libris Mortis: The Book of Undead

I bought it because I heard it was great, but I just haven't found any use for it. Heck, I haven't even "really" read it yet.

Ah well, maybe it will find some use, eventually.

Most of the FFE stuff.

There are a few bright spots - Dangerous Creatures Tome being one example - but many of the products they made were just not usable without major fixing.

Ditto here, ...until I started stating out a BBEG lich. Then, everything that had seemed lackluster all clicked into place, shined up pretty, and became vital to that NPC.

My vote would be for WoD 2.0 & V:tR. Bought it. Read it. Realized I would never play it, and all the time had a perfectly good version that I was already playing with plenty of resources that I consider the far superior product in both system and fluff.

Heroquest core book. Tried three times to get through that thing, only to throw it away in disgust. The only RPG book I have not been able to read through. I would say $40 down the crapper, but I did manage to trade it for WFRP 2nd Edition.
