[WoT Adventure] Turn 1

The chase begins

The trollocs are hardly keeping quiet, so chasing them was possible even in the moonlight. Especially when a muffled scream every few seconds made it painfully clear what was in the sack.

You half-noticed a beggar outside the inn, but didn't pay him any mind. There was no reason for anyone to be there, but there were far more pressing concerns.

The trollocs ran out into the road, down the street, and around the corner past the alleyway entrance. And then they turned into the fields outside the city, heading down a hedgerow. You gained on them slowly, even with Sirsei and Shalimar trailing behind everyone else.

Suddenly, the pair of trollocs stopped, turning to face the adventurers.

Ashrem’s eyes widened as he caught sight of the fleeing trollocs. “There they are!”, he exclaimed in a muffled whisper. Suddenly the trollocs stopped and turned to face them.

Ash put his arm up to motion Shalimar back. With his other hand he drew a dagger from each boot. “ I heard screams. There is a person in that sack. We must be careful.” Sparing a glance at Shalimar he whispered, “Stay behind me m’lady.” He seemed to hesitate a second as if weighing the young woman. “Watch our backs.”, he added as he offered one of the daggers. I doubt she can use a blade, but I’ll be impressed if she accepts it.

A dagger in one hand, he drew his sword with the other and leveled it at one of the trollocs as if challenging it. If we survive this, maybe I’ll ask her to dance., he thought grimly.

[OOC: Ash tries to intimidate one of the trollocs. How far away are they? Ashrem will ready an action to attack any trolloc that comes with threat range of Shalimar. He will try to keep himself between her and the trollocs. If she moves, he moves with her. When one comes within 10ft he will throw one of his daggers, closer and he will use his rapier.]

OOC: Since it looks like if I don't follow, I don't get any fun...

IC:
Giving up completely on any chance of being regarded as normal, Sirsei spares a last glance for the fleeing crowd before taking off after the others. She hikes her skirts up, and thanks her mother for always telling her to wear good walking shoes.

Finally, chasing after the fleeting views of Shalimar up ahead, she tries to catch up with the rest, thankful for her long-legged domani build.

Huffing and puffing, she stops short when she finally arrives, gasping as she realizes the trollocs hav stopped.

<Ashrem quickly realizes that the only thing that would intimidate one of the creatures is killing the other one; it had no reaction to a stance that most men would have run from in an instant.(27 on initimidate check, but trying to intimidate a hungry trolloc doesn't do much)

Ashrem, Tomas, Yuri, and Shalimar are about 30 ft away when they turn and stop; Sirsei is the farthest back at about 30 ft behind you. Jain is ahead of Sirsei but behind everyone else; if Pedron hasn't disappeared, then he's at about that distance as well. No one sees Pedron, in any case, but that doesn't mean he's not there. In any case, the only light out here is the moon, and the trollocs can see far better right now than you can.>

Initiative

Ashrem, 18
Trolloc 1, 17
Tomas, 16
Pedron<if he's here>, 15
Yuri, 14
Trolloc 2, 13
Shalimar, 10
Jain, 7
Sersei, 4

Realizing that a fight is likely to ensue, since trollocs can be dealt with in no other way, Sirsei grasps the source once more. She sighs with pleasure even as she prepares her attack.

Her tactic of trying to light the trolloc early was only semi-successful, but this time she'll improve on her tactic. Instead of lighting the trolloc from the bottom, she'll weave a flame(torch size again) in its face.(Since this weave's duration is concentration, she can hold it more than one round.)

She throws her weave at the trolloc carrying the sack, hoping to make it drop its burden, and even if it doesn't she hopes to blind it.

Even as she weaves the flows of fire, she thinks on what else she can do to distract the beast, but this seems like her best option right now.

She wonders what those scream were... They weren't the trollocs. Could there be someone in the sack? Why would the trollocs want a ...? She cringes as she realizes the answer to her question. Her resolve strengthens and she finishes weaving her flows.

This isn't supposed to be happening, not HERE! not Now! I don't know the others can't rely on them and i don't trust the one power. There's only one thing to do hit them hard and hope what ever....Who ever is in that sack doesn't get hurt.

" I'm not some rube, that whets himself at the sight of a flamin' trolloc." Jain scowles intensely.

"PUT DOWN THE SACK OR MEET YOUR MAKER TROLLOC SCUM!!!"

[OOC: on his iniatative Jain's getting as close as he can and useing heroic surge to throw two of his daggers at one of the trollocs.]

"Thank you Ashrem, but I do not need the knife I have two of my own." Shalimar said without really paying attention to him.

She glared at the trollocs, glad she had not released saidar. Her brow furrowed in concentration, and she raised her arm toward it and clenched her fist as the wavering flows of air started to gather around the closer of the trollocs, the one without the sack. Her skills were not great enough to trap the entire beast so she concentrated on its lower torso, if she was lucky, it might trap his arms or legs pinning him for the others. (ooc level 2 harden air 1st plus air affinity).

I hope we are able to serve the person in that sack. I know they eat people so thats what it has to be. That sack is awfly small, I hope its not a child. Whoever it is must be scared out of her wits, I certainly am, and I have Ashrem here watching over me like a lioness over her cubs. I hope we wont be too late. Whatever happens I must hold this weave, or the trolloc could hurt someone

Yuri is glad for the interruption that saved him from possibly gutting the Ebou Dari. Blood and ashes, I must remember how touchy those people are! And he smiles when Ashrem tells Shalimar that she needs an escort. Perhaps he didn't notice the flames that were appearing... Seeing the other two, Yuri advances to strike a blow at the one with a sack. He didn't hear any screaming, but he knows what Trollocs like to eat.

Pedron

So much for using the Trollocs as an excuse to escape the Aes Sedai, Pedron thinks. However, he can't simply slip away now that she's here. She'll know that he lied. Well, at least no one's seen him yet. Pedron, as quietly as he knows how, tries to slip around the Trollocs. Sticking a knife in its back sounds appealing, but he has other things on his mind. It sounded like it had a person in that sack. Pedron has nothing against stealing from people, but stealing people? Even thieves have some scruples--it's what keeps them from becoming common thugs. Getting that sack clear of the Trolloc isn't like pickpocketing some dull merchant, but he intends to do just that. Somehow.

<How's that for wildly misapplying a skill? In any case, Pedron tries to get around the Trolloc this round. If the Trolloc spots him, he'll throw his knife. He probably won't get a chance to do anything else until the next round. Then, if the Trolloc has dropped the sack, he tries to get it and the person inside clear of the fighting, otherwise he tries to get the Trolloc to drop it. If he determines that it's just not possible to get it clear, he uses the opportunity for a surprise flank attack.>

"Stay back, M'Lady," Lord Tomas addresses to Shalimar. "We shall endeavor to keep you safe from these creatures." Why the fool woman had to follow us is beyond me. She'll just get in the way and endanger us all.

Lord Tomas draws his longsword again. Wish I had my shield... He watches Ashrem's attack. Then Lord Tomas steps foward to engage the one holding the sack, feeling that it's encumbrance might make it an easier target for his martial training. As he steps forward, he says, "Master Yuri, take the other one." The Borderlander should be in his element and should be okay on his own against one.
