[WOTC]D20 Modern: Straight to SRD or NOT?

I heard at the gencon meeting when they were talking about d20 modern (anthony v. ,erik mona, etc) that d20 modern was going straight into SRD when it hit the bookshelf on the first day of novemember. Is this true or not? Anyone debunk this?

I recalled some time ago that someone have opened up a d20 Modern mailing list for developers only so they can get a scoop on the d20 Modern rules for use in their upcoming d20 Modern support products.

And here is something I find on Wizards' web site:
This is just a short list of some of the other publishers who are currently working on sourcebooks you'll see on the shelves at the same time or soon after the d20 Modern Roleplaying Game core rulebook hits the streets:
  • Troll Lord Games
  • Green Ronin Publishing
  • Living Room Games
  • Agents of Gaming
  • Citizen Games
  • OtherWorld Creations, Inc.
  • Mongoose Publishing
  • Electric Mulch
  • Fiery Dragon Productions, Inc.
  • Paradigm Concepts, Inc.
  • Eden Studios
  • Goodman Games
  • Bad Axe Games
  • Mythic Dreams Studios
http://www.wizards.com/dnd/article.asp?x=dnd/iw/iw20020818a

And there is announcement by Charles Ryan who will write and publish (under Green Ronin label) a new version of Ultramodern Firearms for d20 Modern to be on sale hopefully by November (same month as d20 Modern rulebook is set to debut).

So far, this is Wizards' biggest hype of the year.

see the kicker here is pcgen. We want to include this in the application and I KNOW that they said it would be shunted to SRD the day of or after release. In this way we can have those who want to build their charasmatic heros can with spycraft equipment...

i just want confirmation on the SRD release time...

D20 Modern is SRD

AEarlier today on the PCGen Yahoo group the subject came up. Coming down from "on high" the word is that D20 Modern is going into the SRD immediately.

Not to be fussy, but I will believe it when I see it on the computer screen. :)

see this is my whole topic and reason for posing this question. I see that WOTC designers have said it'll be out on day 1 and we all know WOTC's SRD release schedule so i just wanted someone to confirm my question and just nail down the answer..

Its possible for WOTC to release some d20 Modern rules immediately. However, there is no rule saying that they must post the OGC in the SRD. And there is no rule saying that they must provide the OGC for free. WOTC has evidently been releasing drafts of d20 Modern OGC to select companies. You should probably contact WOTC directly.

I thought the PCGen folks have a line of communication with Anthony Valterra himself. Didn't you at least asked him before he goes on vacation?
