What will you call 5.3, 5.4, or the 5.5 SRD releases...?
This isn't an SRD so...?
What will you call 5.3, 5.4, or the 5.5 SRD releases...?
Yeah, gotta be honest, if I were publishing 3rd party content, ORC would be a deal breaker when free and clear Creative Commons is sitting right there...with a little trickiness from Black Flag's use of ORC..grrr)
But that's the point of the thread, what to call the 2024 releases tied to the forthcoming 5.2 SRD. What will you call 5E revisions in future decades...? 5.5 is a silly name, and not future proofed. This isn't an SRD so...?
I like 5.2, it's shorter to say than every other term proposed thus far. No one has ever referred to DnD editions by the SRD number though, so I'm not sure it's going to catch onOn May 6, Wotc said it would release SRD 5.2. It's the closest thing we have to an "edition" name from WotC, so why don't we just call it 5.2 and rest?
I mean, no prior Edition had this sort of SRD continuity.I like 5.2, it's shorter to say than every other term proposed thus far. No one has ever referred to DnD editions by the SRD number though, so I'm not sure it's going to catch on

What comes after 5.75? And after that...?Any next version will be 5.75. Eventually they will do a 6. Or they can keep pretending it’s still 5E+.
Point being, every 5-10 years WotC will have a new core 3 to sale and then only reason they don’t call it 6E is because they don’t want to scare the newbies.
By that logic, v5.875. And then v5.9375.What comes after 5.75? And after that...?
Zeno's Edition notation...By that logic, v5.875. And then v5.9375.
Exactly.By that logic, v5.875. And then v5.9375.
