I'm happy they made this decision and even gave us fixed dates for the new content.

My impression is that they've already revealed quite a lot, more than enough to test out central parts of the game.

I've already pre-ordered on Amazon some time ago.

In terms of OGL/GLS....etc... as a consumer it doesn't really matter to me. I've got enough 3.5 material to last the rest of my life and if no 3rd party 4e stuff comes out it'll be a shame but WoTC has already shown enough of it's catalog to know that the game isn't going to be 'dry'.
