WoTC March 2009 Editorial Calendar

I don't see any issue with martial power 2 (though more than 2 would be a stretch). There can still be at least 1 more built for each class, maybe even two, and you could use the rest of the space for martial-themed subclasses like the weapon style multiclass feats or perhaps mounted combat. And ofc it helps to cover the new races for martial classes. Arcane Power II seems a no-brainer as well.

The martial classes are kind of classic, and probably the most overall popular class types out there. Its not surprising that they're not done designing powers for them.

I have no problem with yet another Martial Power book as long as they don't create significant power creep. There has already been power creep in the game (PHB I is overall slightly less powerful than Martial power and what we've seen of PHB II, in the opinion of many) - escalating that power creep would be annoying.

As long as there are new martial classes coming out, I don't see a problem with another Martial Power coming out to support them... but we haven't heard about a new martial class, have we?

Unless of course the playtest is about a couple of new ideas (like the primal playtest had instinctive actions and tribal feats), and martial power 2 will come out after PHB3 or something else...

You actually liked those one page "class acts" articles?
*Ugh*
I hated them. There was no meat to them.

I love the class acts as well. I prefer them to be 2-3 pages, but either way, I really wish they would come back. It hardly takes up an magazine space, and it has some quick and interesting options for characters of a particular class.

We've already had "Class Acts" in 4e. One had "illusionist" powers for the Wizard, another had powers and options for a "infernal warlock/warlord" multiclass tiefling.

Martial Power 2? Ugh.

I know they were going to do a new PH, MM, and DM Guide every year, but do they really have to do multiples of EVERY book now?

Yeah, I more or less feel the same way. I hope that's a typo because I don't see a reason for another MP. Martial Power did the job fine for martial classes and the only reason I can imagine the need for another one is if they're adding one or two martial classes in the EPG, which I don't imagine is the case (at least if it follows the FRPG's example).

I can sort of see the reason for an Arcane Power 2, if only because that the artificer won't be in the first one. But why a second MP?

I guess I should clarify a bit too...I don't mind new options and powers, but the usual trend with splat books like that is power creep. It's almost as though coming up with new builds and so forth stretches the baseline so much that the new options always end up so much more powerful/desirable than the originals.

I have to agree with the sentiment that Martial Power already seemed to creep a bit, and judging by some of the previews of PH2, the creep continues. But of course, I'll reserve judgement of that until March!

I had no clue that a Martial Power 2 was in the works! Here's hoping there's an Int-based Rogue build...

I'm hoping MP2 won't just collect the new powers that are going to be included in those minis-packs.

As for the rest of the calendar...all I can think of now is how I'm going to manage to get over to my FLGS on the 17th after St. Patty's celebrations the night before...

Woo beastiary, assassin article, Betrayal. Also intrigued by the MP2/Arcane Power previews.

My hopes:

Int based Rogue
Archer Rogue
Warlord who can lead from the rear.
