That is alot of hard cover books!! I wonder why no D20 modern stuff is there

IIRC, They are planning on the rules release for d20 Modern in November and will simultaneously release SRD material along with it. They have a number of "signed on" d20 publishers, interested in working with that rules set, already on board for advance development of their own releases to either coincide or follow soon after.

I would guess it would be half a year, or so, before they come out with any supplementary material from WotC (if at all, and likely something large and in hardback form). It definitely appears that they are moving back to the conventional wisdom (as sometimes espoused by Mr. Dancey) of only producing the main books for a particular genre or setting, and leaving the less profitable, smaller run publications in the hands of the d20 community.

Then again, I may be wrong... *shrug*

:)

Fiend Folio? Yet another monster book. I think we will have plenty of monsters, what will this book offer the other do not?

Cool, where'd you hear about all this?

Here.

Obviously, I cannot verify any of it, but it looks legit. Most of these products were known about and expected, we just weren't sure when they would hit the Release schedule.

3e Fiend Folio, as far as I know, is a new announcement, though. I can't recall even hearing a semi-official rumor about that one.

Cheers,

Very little I suspect. Of all the monster books I've bought (excluding Monster Manual and Monster Manual Appendix: Monsters of Faerun), the only ones of value to me are Bastion Press' Minions, which offered a slew of higher CR and very bizarre monsters, and Green Ronin's Legion of Hell (although I liked the flavor text in Armies of the Abyss there are very few monsters I would use even in a demon-heavy game).

None of the Sword and Sorcery stuff, non of the AEG or Fast Forward Entertainment (yuck) material, that I've bought has been of much value.

In a way, this reminds me of 2ed. There were so many different appendices and most of the new monsters were simply souped up versions of existing monsters. I see this with most of the monsters released in second source d20 publications and there's a hint of this even in official WotC as well. Unless the new monster is really filling in a nitch that does not exist, I see no reason for it.

Still, I'll buy all those new WotC products... If they're smart, they'll make Fiend Folio a book filled with the Dukes of Hell, the Demon Lords, and other high level fiends.

Do we know who's writing this material?
