FRR Sons of Gruumsh: FR Adventure Path #1

These look cool.

I wonder if the Prison is tied to the old Dungeon module about the mind flayer run prison. I bet Sons of Gruumsh is tied to the Salavtore Lone Drow series as other posters have mentioned.

I hope the spell book has some new spells in it. I don't think I'll buy it if its just a compilation of all the spells from the complete books, the FR books and the Eberron books.

I'm a bit hesitent about the Special Edition DMG if the only difference is a leather cover (and, a ribbon, which I'm sure Merric will enjoy ;) ).

Yep. Got it in one. It'll have a ribbon, so it must be mine! :D

Cheers!

Nothing for Star Wars then? I thought Wizards might have wanted to release some new material this year, since Revenge of the Sith is likely to rekindle some interest in the Star Wars RPG, but I guess I was wrong. Obviously, this line is truly dead. :\

Wizards are still deciding what to do with the RPG licence. August Hahn posted a couple of days ago on the Living Force list that he'd let us know as soon as they made a decision.

Cheers!

D&D Magic of Incarnum

I had no idea, but someone's pointing out it'll be of the Weapon of Legacy series... I'll have to see that first.

Another adv. path like the one of the first year could be very nice, but of course it depends on both the cool factor and the plot depth. The fact that it is FR specific may not be a problem IMO.

D&D Heroes of Horror

Seemed clear by the title that this was with Heroes of Battle. Let's see first what comes out of the first, at the moment HoH sounds to me like it would cover more gothic adventures, or something with a "fear theme", similar to CoC or Ravenloft. No opinion yet.

D&D Gift Set

No idea. There was already a box set of the 3 core books, and a basic game. What else are they planning? Maybe something in between? A box with the PHB + 1 ready adventure + minis? I doubt I am in the customer range of this sort of products.

EBR Magic of Eberron

Pretty straightforward.

This new series could be very good, but I hope the books are SMALL. Having a cheap <50pp booklet with a plug-in detailed location is nice, but I doubt I would buy anything larger, since other books have locations as well.

FRR Champions of Valor

Bahh.... this means that Champions of Ruin is just a FR version of BoVD, and CoV is the equivalent of BoED. Most likely another book of crunch I'll never buy. I am tired of this kind of stuff.

D&D Spell Compendium

Sounds like a single book to include all* 3.5 spells from a number of sources (but which I don't know), just to have them all together. Very likely to update some 3.0 spells which haven't been covered yet and obviously to add another bunch to attract those who have all the others.

Maybe we should bet about this book having a new version of Polymorph? :]

I wonder if this is the start of a new series as mentioned... will there be a Feat Compendium and a Prestige Class Compendium? Not impossible.

*someone wrote this is only book I however!

Really? I didn't know that. Thank you.

D&D Spell Compendium: If you they put in Magic of Faerun, all of the Complete XYZ spells, stuff from the environment series (Frostburn etc.), I could see this being pretty useful.

I wonder if the Horror book will use some stuff from CoC d20 (mechanics, not IP).

Since Codex Anathema got changed so that bookstores would know what it was, I predict "Magic of Incarnum" will be retitled before release ;)

I also am annoyed by Spell Compendium (particulalrly if it is Spell Compendium I). How many times will WOTC sell the same stuff to us (Builder Books, Complete Books, and then put all the spells in a much more convenient compnedium)? I predict they will do this with feats and prestige classes too :heh:

I am also looking forward to this one. Hopefully it'll be the first in a series of 32-64 page adventures. I wonder who's writing them. Anyway, I'm very happy that FR is getting substantial adventure support again. What with this and Eric Boyd's FR campaign arc in Waterdeep/Dungeon of the Crypt I think I might have a new Forgotten Realms campaign on my hands.
