WotC_Rodney on Ari M. and Al Qadim

Wow, I had no idea Al-Qadim was a worthwhile setting.

I guess the problem with 2e's various campaign worlds isn't that they weren't awesome, but that they fragmented gamers. Toward the end of 3e, we saw a new way to deal with that: use the settings for big adventures. But what if they took that idea to the next level?

I think it would be the most amazing thing in the world to have a complete Adventure Path that sent PCs on a tour of the various abandoned campaign settings. There's got to be a (non-lame) way to weave together a story of heroes from various worlds racing to save the multiverse. You could even include a couple of iconic classes from the campaign worlds that demand them.

It would be hard to do right, but it sure would be fun if they pulled it off...
A D&D variant of Torg?

Several badguys have found Darkness Devices in their world, and are now working together to take over their final price *enter yet unknown setting here*. It's the Storm Knights goal to destroy the Darkness Devices and save *enter yet unknown setting here*. To do that, they have to visit each Realm and find the place where the Darkness Device is hidden...

2e had several awesome settings: Al-quadim, Athas (Dark Sun), Ravenloft, Mystara

Well that sounds a bit cliche to me for some reason. Also I have the feeling that different worlds are completely cut-off cosmologically. But of course if they are bringing Sigil back, it could serve that exact purpose:)

Bringing Sigil back doesn't necessarily mean to bring back Planescape as it was still known.

The Forgotten Realms should be proof of how one can still have the same name, but be changed in some drastic ways.

I love Al Quadim, but I think it is only the second best setting. The best damn published DND setting would have to be Athas (Dark Sun). :p
Ah, but Al Qadim was great all the way through *its* release schedule. (Whistles innocently and walks away from thread)

Thaumaturge.

I really liked Al Qadim.

Although I've never understood why people got so upset that they placed it on the same planet as Toril? For me, that just opened up more adventure ideas... (crusades and diplomacy and such...)

Al-Quadim was the setting I dearly wish I had access to when I had gotten involved...

Alas, my timing was off, and the book store just didn't carry anything of it.

Best setting I never played. <3
