Would you allow this class?

I've resently started DMing a campaign revolving around magic and psionics. One of the players managed to talk me into accepting a prestige class that'd grand him 90 bonus power points per day through the course of ten levels, 9 of which would also gain him powers, manifester levels, power points etc as if advancing in his previous maniesting class (psion). Moreover the hit die of the class is D8. At first we'd included some wilder abilities such as wild surge and vol. mind but i managed to "forgret about them" without anyone noticing.

Is this class overbalancing? If it is, could anyone come up with adjustments and/or requirements that'd help getting it down to earth? or maybe i'm overreacting and this is just a simple, or even underpowered PrC?

Compare it to the metamind, which gets about 33 limited bonus power points a day (free manifestations of lower-level powers), plus an 11 power-point bank he can fill and use later, plus a capstone ability that lets him manifest powers for free once/day for a minute (possibly up to 150 free power points if he cast a 15-point power every round; in practice this rarely happens and many of the free points would be wasted). In exchange he gets 1/2 power progression, not 9/10, so he maxes out as a 15th level psion at 20th character level.

Compared to this, 90 bonus power points that can be used any way the player wants is way more powerful, flexibility-wise, and 9/10 psion-level progression is too good.

The metamind exists to fill the niche your custom PrC was trying to do; give the caster effectively more power points. Just use that, I'd say.

Oh, and a d8 hit points? For a psionic prestige class? He gets a d4 and he better like it.

The class your player designed is the rough equivalent of a wizard class that loses one level of spellcasting in return for 5 bonus spell slots of the highest level he can cast.

The metamind is so horribly, horribly underpowered that it is an afront to ink and paper everywhere.

It should be used by no one, ever.

It is literally better to 'not' take it than it is to take it.

All of that said, I will need a whole lot more info before saying whether or not this prc should be allowed or not, does it happen to be in a book somewhere?

It grants 9ML over 10 levels but grants 90pp? These do not mesh well with one another. Or are you saying that it grants pp as though gaining levels and 90pp?

With d8 hd, 9/10 progression and who knows what else it sounds a lot like the slayer prc.

If this is homebrewed it is likely better off in the houserules forum, with a full write up. Otherwise it is impossible to say what the drawbacks are (like, say, 0 BAB progression or something).

In other words, put a full writeup on the houserules board, put a link in this thread. I am sure you will be able to get some help ;)

That's what I was assuming, personally.
