D&D 4E Would you buy and play a new campaign setting for 4e?

I would only buy a new 4e campaign setting

  • If WOTC released it themselves.

    Votes: 23 9.9%
  • If PAIZO released it, with the same level of quality as WOTC.

    Votes: 9 3.9%
  • If a 3rd party with the same level of quality as Paizo released it.

    Votes: 15 6.5%
  • If an established 3rd party released it, to their own standards.

    Votes: 6 2.6%
  • I am not interested in a new campaign setting, I have enough already.

    Votes: 47 20.3%
  • I might be interested, but it would have to be something really cool, different or inspiring.

Now that it looks like they might really be fleshing out the Core World, I'm changing my vote: I don't think I'll need another D&D campaign setting at all.

hmm yep

I buy into it if it was released with adventure books like Eberron was(though I wasn't super satisfied with those.) Maybe if Paizo released a campaign setting book along with Pathfinder, that'd be really great. Especially if it added mechanics and such.

I'd like to see WOTC release an original 4e setting... so I could steal stuff from it. That's about all the use I'd likely get from it.

Not interested, I have enough already.

My imagination.

I homebrew my campaigns, and I usually don't buy campaign settings. I'm far more comfortable using my own imagination than someone else's, I have more control over it, and it costs me less money.

What poll?

Geez, can't people wait for the polls to be posted? The way the boards are set up, you have to post the thread first, then the poll. It takes a few minutes.

:)

Yep. Take all the new fluff, add some details, and call it Greyhawk.

Yup, and then all the grognard hate would kill GH. Again. :D

There was no WotC or Paizo option so I couldn't check it.

Since the pantheon and fluff in 4e is really rubbing me the wrong way, if I do buy 4e, I'll get the FR setting. Perhaps they will change some feat names to make them fit FR and include a pantheon with gods not directly devoted to combat and adventuring. (I wouldn't be surprised if they did kill off a lot of the non-combat type FR gods, but I really hope they don't.)

It depends. It would have to be really good, and I probably wouldn't DM it (working on my own, and the gods blurb doesn't sound like a good sign. Nor do dragonfolk or thieving gypsy hobbits on rafts). I could put up with playing in something new, and it would be hard pressed to be worse than Eberron or FR.

Michelangelo's David was made by subtracting all the stone that didnt belong, not adding more.

Ah yes and we will have to wait for a quality 3rd party publisher to do a setting that can appreciate that reality.
