Largely based on the sheer number of members the this board has, the larger the subsection the more likely it accurately reflects the whole.
That's only true if the subsection is a random selection. If the sample is biased (which ENworld is) then it doesn't matter if you have 100 people or 100,000.

Add to that the fact that it's been tied neck-a-neck for so long, and it seems pretty obvious that one or both sides have seen some grand ballot-stuffing going on.

ENWorld polls = voodoo statistics, just like most online polls... :)

I hope noone has so much time on their hands that they would waste it stuffing a useless online poll. Really that seems unlikely (and pathetic) to me.

I'd love to see it. Yes psionics are too weak/powerful/unbalanced etc. depending on your perspective, but I think that's _because_ they've never used the core rules mechanic.

Put them in a separate chapter in the core books if you must, but at least align them to match the rest of the rules.

Psionics are definitely unbalanced and kinda broken right now. I don't need another reason for my players to bitch about me not allowing them.

Here is another poll I could see being split down the middle.
Is psionics underpowered or overpowered?

And I love how both sides seem to use pretty sloppy math to prove their point. :)

My main beef is that it seems psionics was pretty much hamstrung (by the author's own admission) so as to never be able to replace the current rule mechanics of magic in a game.

Personaly, I want options. I have campaign ideas where the spell point system and the whole crystal (and add in some ley lines) would fit in ... if psionic had some more "umph!" to their healing -- forget the whole damage thing.

The problem here is that it depends on how many add-on rules you are using, ITCKy, Dragon, Mind's Eye and then add Mindscapes & Q-Psion coming out next month. (and that's without bringing in houserules)

That's one of the biggest problem with psionics right now, my psions are probable using completely diferent rules than Pirate Cat's and we're both doing things different than (Psi)SeveredHead is.

I'm willing to give Monte faith that he will come up with something that will work for all.

What do you mean? Such blanket statements only make me annoyed because I have no basis to understand why poster feels like this...
Also if your players want to play psions, maybe you should do some groundwork and find working set of rules. The way I see it, current PsiHB is playable if you take Mind's Eye content in account. All material in there is official and even worst of it is no more broken than some magic combos are at the moment.

Or you have the opposite problem, where you GM says if it's not in a WotC book, it's not allowed -- which kills using Mind's Eye.
