Would you pay for cool features?

Well, would you?

I voted yes but I don't have a credit card and I live in Europe and therefore would have severe problems in paying.

If a solution to this has already been found and posted, then sorry. :D

I like the idea...

Because it's MY idea
:D

It was me who suggested it in the temporaly formums, under the cool name of Prestige Membership (a la Prestige Class) :)

I'd pay just because I can get more out of these boards then any book. Having the search enabled would be a good thing. I don't think Avatars should be brought back. They use way too much Bandwidth.

As somebody suggested before, I think that the 200 user limit should only effect the people that don't pay. This might get more funds.

The custom title might be cool too.

Hmm, I would like to help keep this site up and donate - but I'm also a non-creditcarduser, so I might have to give it to Morrus in person ;).

As for the suggested difference between donating users and not donating users with regard to the poster limit. I think that's a bad idea. I do understand the reasoning behind it, but it just doesn't seem right to me. But as the money will be spend on a server-upgrade and in that way the user-limit will be not necesarry anymore, I hope this is a mute point (and it will probably be not that easy to implement anyway).

As for donating users who get their threads locked, I guess they are in bad luck. Nowhere did I find something posted by Morrus that if you pay that gives you a right to go against the rules of this board.

I really like the raffle idea. Chipping in $10-$15 a year and maybe winning something cool would be well worth it.

Paypal also accepts Debit cards for those who don't have credit cards.

I work at a bank- I would think bank2bank transfers would have a pretty high proceesing fee. At least they do here in the states.

Hey, y'know Russ is going to be at GenCon this year. You could meet him and pay him in person there, if you want. ;)

Okay, now I'm getting an unwelcome mental image. Sigh, that's what I get for reading Paradise Lost at 9 in the morning.

I don't even know what a debit card is, let alone have one, and I'm pretty sure that bank2bank transfers are horribly costly. :(

With it being time to, er, answer the call of nature or get off the pot, I would gladly pay $25 per year for this service. After all, I use this place far more than any other place on the net, and were it to go away, then I would find myself bereft of the strongest site on the 'net for D&D news, and intelligent cameraderie.

$2 per month? Works for me! Let me know where to sign!

I whole-heartedly agree with you; however, being a student (but with access to a credit card:) ), it would be much more easier to pay 2$/month than 24$/year... I more often have 2$ to give the site than 24$ at once!
