Darg,

Not to piss you off but I'm finding it pretty doubtful ANY of those will occur other than maybe an Ed Greenwood article here and there.

I doubt they'll do much with FR since they don't do much with it now online.

The current drought of FR articles (Excluding Eytans) is due to Ed being buried with work.

Unfortunatly Wizards had Ed writing all the FR articles for the site Waterdeep News, Border Kingdoms and the story like article with Azoun and his wife teleporting all over the place. So when Ed found he was to snowed under he had to give up the web articles for a while it stopped all the articles for the setting (Eytan Berstein has recently picked up some of the slack with his Non core class articles)

Wizards also have 2 large Web Enhancements submited by Darrien Draeder (An updated write up of the city of Phlan) and Eric Boyd (more info on the Half Dragon Drow that appeared in the WOSQ series of novels)

"Hey, hey guys! It's me, WotC! Yeah, hey, come over here and check this out! No, really, come on over. Aw come on, I'm not gonna shove you in. Anyway, look down there. See that? No no, not on the ledge. Keep looking. Yeah it's kinda deep, I'll turn on my flashlight. Yeah, see it now? Yeah, that's our respect for our customers. Heh, yeah it sure is pretty low, all the way down at the bottom there - at least I think it's the bottom. That had to hurt! See what really broke it's back was landing on that DRAGON and DUNGEON cancellation.

Yeah, you're right. We don't think much of you."

So much for browsing through DragMag and-or Dungeon at the FLGS before deciding whether I want to buy it...whether it'll add anything to my game, or give me any ideas.

If other gamers are like me, this is bad for FLGS owners. I have two FLGS in my area, and I alternate going to each one. When I go in, about half the time, there's nothing interesting to buy (see my comment on the Complete Book of Useless Crunch), so I buy Dungeon or Dragon as a consolation prize/to keep the place making some revenue.

I don't like going into a mom and pop, browsing, and walking out with nothing. And I don't feel like blowing $30 every week or two. So, I'll probably end up going to the FLGS more like 8 times a year than 20 times a year. That's not good for business, I should think!

I want a "Yes, but" option.

I know WotC doesn't care about how I feel, but I'll pay for this even as I begrudge WotC for it. I don't want to miss out on new official content, but at this point I see no reason why this change had to be, or any indication that it'll be better.
???

Is that like you're bending over while pleading not to be spanked?

As for the topic, I can't. And even if I do have the plastic, I probably won't. It's something about having something in my hand, and I don't mean my old CRT monitor. And reading it, when my place is suffering power outage (happened last year during an earthquake in Hawaii). That and the fact that my eyes don't get fatigued from reading printed text, unlike electronic text, where you need to take 10 (minutes) for every hour or you might as well carve them out with a spork.

Besides, Mr. Rouse, isn't the internet the best place to get FREE information?

Ranger,

Al is the Optimist of the Demons/Fiends on this board. :p ;)

Haakon,

Business hasn't been good for FLGS for a while now...

I don't care for online content. It could be very well that Wizards's offering will be of the same quality as what Paizo had in Dragon/Dungeon, it could even be better, why not? But I have absolutely no interest in reading it online. I want my gaming stuff in print, and printing it out on my crappy inkjet printer is no option for me.

I'll have a look at Pathfinder, my remaining subscriptions will give me 2 issues. I'm confident that it will be good, but I doubt that I'll buy it. The price is probably too much for me. I was always less interested in adventures than in Dragon-style articles, and Pathfinder seems to be mainly about adventures.
