The gender of a player has never been an issue. Neither has the sex of a character.

I think I would leave any group that based membership on gender...

No we wouldn't stop her. In fact, I never played in a gaming group that had not at least one girl in. Even one shots at convention with strangers. Every RPG sessions I ever attended had at least one girl (except for a couple occasions where the group's girl was not there this day).

Our current group has 2 women, 2 gay men, 3 straight men and a transgendered man/woman. The only thing we don't have is a lesbian and a female to male transgendered.... Letting a woman into the group is NOT an issue.

I listed option #4 because, while I normally find it a requirement to have at least one player in a campaign just for it to function properly, there have been gaming dynamics in which I have been involved that would have been spoiled by a female player. I've only been in one beer swilling guys' night poker-for-geeks kind of game but it was some of the most fun I've ever had in my life. So, in one of the 20-30 gaming groups I've been in, a woman would not have been accepted as a player but in all others, women were positively and, in some cases, vehemently encouraged to participate.

heh, reminds me of the Simpsons where Lisa wants to go to Barts military reform school.

My group has 2 girls 5 guys. I know that pales in comparison to Cmanos' there but hey.

Our group wouldn't have any problems with a woman joining, I don't think. We have a 12 year old boy at the table, so anything sexual (rare) is off camera, anyway - and I really don't think I'd want it otherwise even if he weren't there.

Try having a 13 year old first join up chaperoned by his mother..... and the DM wanting to sic a succubus on his character...... you talk about the "mom radar" going off...... And one DM hastily backpedalling.....

She had no problems with us and soon just dropped her son off and went to do whatever. Now, at 17, he has his own car and can drive to games.

And anything "sexual" is off-camera or insinuated. Even so, we all start in with the crass comments... Both girls and guys are in on those! But we sure don't want, from a site I saw, dice rolls for every "action" during "the act". That's just T-M-FRICKIN-I right there...

I'd say that, hands down, you have the most "diverse" group I've ever seen..... :uhoh:

Ours' is just a bunch of "plain ol'" heterosexuals.... :p Mostly married couples but a few singles "mixed" in.
