Wow! I can't believe this! Thanks to all the reviewers!

I don't know if there's been an attempt to write an adventure with a succubus in it for 3.0 (or 3.5 for that matter) I know there was one in 2E Night Below. You maybe blazing a new trail here. I think you should stay as true as possible to your original story. Some people may need help descibing an encounter with succubi especially new DM's. You want to create a feeling of eroticism without saying "she touches herself. wink wink nudge nudge"

I'll weigh in and just say that I don't think adding curses to dialogue enhances it in any way. You can explore mature themes without bad language the same way that action movies can be made with little to no violence (Mission Impossible and Pirates of the Caribbean come to mind).

As for the other themes, I think they are fine, especially without the explicit language. Oftentimes it is the language itself that can turn a mature theme into an immature scenario. By keeping the language clean, you'll also keep things implied (excellent suggestion Buttercup!) and the fear and disgust of the players will be all that much more since they'll be imagining the worst things they can!

What's this adventure called exactly? I'd like to take a look at it and see how the author handled this encounter. Thanks.

Anyhow, I'm just concerned about the integrity of the story and the characters. I guess all this talk about sex, Satanism, and swearing is controversial, but I absolutely loath trying to get attention and market share by frivolously including such details without any meaningful purpose. All these tips though are really helping. I love that "fueled by demonic lust" stuff!

Using her hands as a makeshift bodice. She motions you closer with her tongue.

Not bad, but I'm trying to describe how she's being coy about hiding her nudity. Basically, she's encountered after taking a swim in the swamp and she's nude. When she sees the party, she covers her breasts with one arm in a weak attempt at modesty (still seductively though).

Yes, I agree, if it's cleverly done, you may still be able to capture the spirit of the characters.

However, with a "foul-mouthed" halfling, how can you exclude any swearing?

Now I'm confused because most people seem to say everything but sex is okay, but then Wil is saying swearing is just as bad.

It's a boxset adventure that was put out by TSR. It's just called Night Below. the encounter just had succubus, an erineys and something else. The succubus didn't really do anything as the adventure was written. She was polymorphed as a human, so you either had to ad lib any interaction or move along.

So, it's not worth getting to see how the author handled the encounter? Is the adventure itself any good?

rising out of the water, she uses her left hand to feebly cover enough of her modesty that you can't tell if the water is cold or not. She could have used both arms but she trails her right hand along the water skimming it's surface, she doesn't even blush as she makes her way to the shore heading right for you.

Ed, I think that PG-13 succubi are not succubi. I had that problem with a homophobe player and an inccubus who just captured his character (a proud knight). While I'm not gay, I don't have issues with them or what they do, and I wanted this scene to affect the char on the long term. The guy went nuts and fumed about my pervert story.

I guess you have to adjust your game, module or not, to your players. I don't think the publisher has to make his module so that even Eric's grandma would approve. In the V:TM Sabbat rulebook, they address this "mature" issue, on how a group of (CE) vampires capture an helpless lady and have fun with her. There are different examples on how to describe this scene, based on how "graphic" you want to be.

As a customer, I will be turned off by products clearly intended for all ages (read kids), such as a pokemon rpg (they fry themselves but aren't harmed), especially when you get into demons and evil creatures. There is a middle ground that can achieve both goals. The Simpsons is for all ages, but a 8 yo won't get all the jokes! :D
