Pathfinder 1E Wraith as a player character

So one of the characters in the evil party I'm DMing for was Wraithed and his creator was killed. I figure it's an evil party, the player would love to play a Wraith, do the conversion and let him be a Wraith now. I can't find anything in the Libris Mortis on Wraiths. It just says "they are inappropriate as player characters". A statement I find insulting...but whatever. I'm wondering if anyone else has seen any hard rules on Wraith characters such as ECL and Wraith levels. Seems like there was a Ravenloft supplement way back that had rules on Wraith characters.

Only Wraith rules I'm aware of were White Wolf's. :)

That being said, you might consider Ghostwalk as a starting point, if you can get access to it. There are ways to play disembodied PCs in there.

Incorporeal was a lot stronger in 3.X than it is in PF, so that probably influenced the authors when they wrote "inappropriate as PCs." But there are pitfalls. For one, how does a bodiless character get and use treasure? Without gear, he/she will fall behind the power curve of the other PCs eventually- even if the wraith keeps gaining levels after being Undead-ed. For another, the wraith's undead hunger is going to be a constant part of his/her new nature- what's to keep the Undead from snacking on the other PCs?

It looks like Savage Species has a Wraith template and information on it being a character.

As per @paradox42 , maybe they couldn't think of what level adjustment to give non-corporeal creatures so that they still vaguely meshed with all the places DMs use such things (balancing encounters, etc...)... and given the 3.X structure (where everything gets an ECL), doesn't that make it not RAW appropriate for a PC class?

You could take Book of Exalted Deeds and apply the features of the Vow of Poverty (p. 29ff), but flip the bonus types and descriptors.

As for unusual cravings, I can't help you much there.

I said similar things when he said he was down to play a Wraith, and he countered with Ghost Touch Gauntlets/Armor. He could then carry things, swing weapons etc... I think the worst part is the powerlessness in sunlight. I'm sure hell make a new char when he gets tired of it, but I don't like to just say "NO" when it actually fits really well. The party IS evil after all. Wraiths don't have a hunger from what a read. They just like to hurt things. He'll get plenty chances to do that.
