By the way. Morgenstern, you know me as lover of all that is SPYCRAFT, and I used the system for my Pulp game and story hour. Got some questions aboout some materials I'm going to do on my website and some general fanboying to do. Could you drop me a line at the e-mail address in my profile or just ell me how to get a hold of you even roundabout? Thanks.
The easiest way to get hold of Morgenstern is over at the Spycraft forum (http://www.alderac.com/forum/)

How would you handle the conversion of characters from Alternity to d20M (especially stats)? I've got some DM material from the web that I want to use.

DarkMatter, regardless of what you think of the Alternity system, is a must buy. I have all the above titles, and that's the one I keep going back to.

The different magic and psi systems might be tricky. Not all of the skills have d20 counterparts. And no perk/flaw system.

Personally..I think I'd just wing it. Pick a level, then rebuild the characters from stratch as d20 Moderners, trying to carry over as much of the original concept as possible.

I think I'd create some new Knowledge skills to cover the Lore specialites [Fringe Science, UFOlogy, Conspiracy Theories, etc.]

Hmm, makes me think SAVAGE WORLDS might be a good conversion , though ... anyway, yes, most of the creatures have counterparts in the creatures seciton of D20 Modern, and Knowledge(Lore) and Knowledghe(Weird Sci) might be useful. A magic intensive game wold be tricky as its more ritual based, but the CoC system's close if I remember. For Psi, I use feat-and-skill base psi powers for my conversion, taken from SPYCRAFT.

Oh, and thanks dpmcallister, for the link.

Urban Arcana has got a ritual based magic system as well - Incantations. See the UA question thread.

Never really used Psi much in D*M as humans were servely limited in what they could take. So I would probably steal Psi from CoC.

PS. My wife loves Jackie Chan Adventures.

Cthulhu d20 definately is the way to go...A friend of mine and I (Aeris Witerood) are playing a modern CoC d20 game and it very much reminds me of x-files/ CSI/ Cthulu

Very cool game
