Fear raging barbarians wielding two-handed melee weapons, for they shall surely slay you with the ease of a red-hot knife going through a stick of butter. Fear giants wielding their customary weapons against you, for you are squishy and go splat with a most satisfying "SPACK!" sound. Fear being on the wrong end of an Alexanderian phalanx and its ranks and files of longspears, for you make a good pin cushion and they make good pins. Fear all of this, unless you have Spring Attack and some way to exploit the low AC scores that such combatants often present to you.

Eek...that plus the flat +4 enhancement bonus bull strength grants...that's a lot of damage!

I'm staying the hell away from giants.

Yeah, Shadowstar has confirmed that Tower Shields can be used as a normal shield now, with a +4 bonus to AC. So sword-and-board fighters haven't been completely ignored.

But we should still feat the raging 1st level 1/2 orc barbarian with the 20 Strength and a greataxe ... with full Power Attack, thats a potential for 1d12 + 16 damage (x3 crit), still at +7 to hit.

That's insane for level 1.

I thought that was ninjas ;)

Even with the tower shield, given the new DR, it seems insane to me to consider going for anything but a 2h weapon.

Don't forget the new Greater Weapon Specialization feat... If a fighter has both WS and GWS, that's a +4 to damage that doesn't have a daily limit...

Methinks the field will be quite bloody soon... :)
