D&D 5E Xanathar hint from Crawford?

Purple Dragon Knight, Sun Soul, Long Death are FR specific.

That leaves Swashbuckler, Mastermind, Undying, Oath of the Crown, Storm, Arcana to pick from, does anyone know which four were most popular (Swashbuckler I already know).

"Banneret serves as the generic name for this archetype if you use it in other campaign settings or to model warlords other than Purple Dragon knights." - the text of the book itself shows how the Purple Dragon knight can be non-setting-specific. And although it doesn't immediately say so, the monastic traditions could instantly be reskinned for other campaign settings by using those settings' deities of light and darkness. Granted, I don't see these three as first choices if you're only going to bring over four of the archetypes...

I'm beginning to think the Undying pact Warlock will be the fourth, as that will have utility in other settings, especially Eberron.

They could also give the PDK a more generic name to encourage use in other settings.

The PDK was not one of the more popular ones anyways.

I think it will likely be Swashbuckler, Oath of the Crown, Arcana Domain, and either Storm Origin or Undying Patron. Mastermind I don't think was popular either.

Let me assure you the speculation has already begun.

I'm sure someone will be along shortly to link to the (months-old) thread discussing the to-be reprinted SCAG material.

Yeah, but at that time we didn't know the exact number coming over. Perhaps I should have said "Let the speculation begin again! Now with more tightly defined parameters!"

All of it can be reskinned, I don't think it will be any that need to be reskinned, which leaves Undying, Storm, Mastermind, Swashbuckler, Oath of the Crown, Arcana Domain.

You link to this tweet:

"Don't tell anyone, but this error has already been corrected in Xanathar's Guide to Everything."

This ONLY means that the reprinted Swashbuckler (from SCAG) has errata incorporated.

There is nothing in Crawford's tweet that suggests they print errata to classes not featured in XGE.

I wasn't suggesting they were collecting errata. I was suggesting they were collecting already printed subclasses. And it turns out they are including other subclasses. But I wrote the note in a hurry and can see why it wasn't clear.

If they include the other elemental sorcerers like sea one and fire one that we playtested (in the weekly things we got few months ago) they will then prolly also put storm sorceror as well.

That could mean 5 Sorceror arctypes, compared to many classes only ending up with 2 or 3 (with the Wizard only getting), but WotC might do that in the hopes of boosting the Sorcerors popularity.

Actually those choices of Sorceror remained me of a Pentgram.

Favoured Soul (Spirit), Phoenix Sorceror (Fire), Sea Sorceror (Water), Stone Sorceror (Earth), and Storm Sorceror (Air).

They can't just fix the class by providing good subclasses since that would have to completely overshadow the two PHB ones.

The only way to boost the Sorcerer's popularity is to redesign it, much like the Ranger.

Unfortunately, the way they keep adding more subclasses before creating The Revised Sorcerer, to me means the chances of that happening in the next few years are getting dim - why otherwise create all those subclasses which would then only need to be reworked as "conclaves" or whatever the term for revised sorq subclasses will be...

The class isn't broken, it doesn't need a revised sorceror.
