I was wondering if there is a standard DTD out there that are open? I started once but I am quite the amateur with XML so it kind of fizzled.

There have been many attempts at things like that. Check out the D20-XML Yahoo group for one possibility.

Thank you. I have been a little out of touch. Yahoo? No thanks. In my experience Yahoo = lots of spam ;) havent touched it since I last changed email adresses and I have not gotten any spam since either (although I have taken other precautions also).

Just create a bogus email address to use for yahoo and never bother reading it.

Why do people still use DTD instead of XML Schema? XSD does everything DTDs do (with only one minor exception), allows for much more detail about exactly what XML is allowed or not, is much better supported in development tools, is namespace aware, which makes bringing multiple documents together much easier, and is XML syntax itself, which for me made it a lot easier to read & understand than DTDs.
