Is a xvart a humanoid or a monstrosity?

I wrote an adventure before the publication of the Monsters of the Multiverse and now I'm updating it. There is a curse in the adventure that only affects humanoids. I need xvarts to be humanoids and boggles to be fey. I also need nilbogs to be humanoid. I guess I'll just be sticking with the Monster Manual, Volo's, and the Tome of Foes.

Are there any character races that are not humanoid?
Yes, there are some that are not humanoid, though they are more uncommon PC options,
  • Autognomes are Constructs
  • Centaurs, Changelings (as of MoM), Fairies, Hexbloods, and Satyrs are Fey
  • Plasmoids are Aberrations
  • Thri-kreen are Monstrosities.

Oh dear, that will not do. I guess the curse will just have to be a smart curse (Can you polymorph an autognome into a hippopotamus? I don't see why not.)

What is MoM and what sources do these other races come from? I don't see them in my application.

Thanks.

Autognomes don't have Immutable Form like some constructs do, so they can be polymorphed into other creatures. Even the amorphous Plasmoids aren't immune to polymorph and the like.

MoM is short for Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse.

Hexbloods are from the Ravenloft book. Autognomes, Plasmoids, and Thri-Kreen are from Spelljammer. The rest are in MoM.

They are Monstrosities cause they have no natural origin, they are literally clones of their demi god creator with no reproductive ability, or instincts a proper person would have.

Xvarts are mutant gnomes, so theyre humanoids

still reasonable to make them cursed fey
if you want to go all out make them abberations

Xvarts are cowardly, greedy creatures spawned by a renegade demigod, Raxivort. They have blue skin, orange eyes, and receding hairlines, mirroring their creator’s appearance.

Raxivort spent centuries watching over the treasury of Graz’zt (appears in this book), and in time, Raxivort plundered his lord’s vault. One of the treasures he stole was the Infinity Spindle, a crystalline shard that could transform even a creature as lowly as Raxivort into a demigod. After his apotheosis, Raxivort forged the Black Sewers, a realm within Pandemonium that he filled with his beloved creatures, rats and bats, which xvarts befriend to this day. He enjoyed his reign only briefly before Graz’zt unleashed his vengeance. The demon prince urged villains far and wide to pursue the Infinity Spindle for themselves and destroy Raxivort.

Fleeing his pursuers, Raxivort wandered across the multiverse and spawned xvarts, who not only look like him but also cause any magic that could reveal his location to point to the nearest xvart instead.
