GuardianLurker
Adventurer
Why should musicians get all the fun? This class attempts to emulate the artist or craftsman of almost supernatural ability. In my homebrew world, it's limited solely to gnomes, but any suitably long-lived race would work fairly well.
The balance points are fairly obvious, and make this class more suited for NPCs than a PC.
The Passion Crafter
Among the Stammelian Hills are born some of the greatest craftsmen and artists the world of Olerra has ever known. Each of these gnomes has found their life's passion, and has dedicated themselves to an unceasing quest to perfect their skill. The greatest of these are honored with the title passioncrafter by the gnomes, and their products are capable of lifting entire armies to the heights of hope and courage, or dashing them to the pits of despair.

Craft Bardic Item (Ex)
At first level, a passioncrafter can imbue any masterwork item he is creating with any Bardic Music effect (except Countersong), using his passion's ranks of Craft (instead of Perform) to determine which effects he can imbue. Only a single effect may be embedded. The embedded effect can only be activated once, and thereafter the item is a normal masterwork item. The effect can potentially affect all who can perceive it at activation - lower hit dice targets are effected first.
The effects last a number of rounds equal to the passioncrafter's level. The DC for any effect that requires a save is 10+the passioncrafter's Craft bonus. For the purposes of any embedded effect or power, the bardic item is activated as soon as anyone other than its creator perceives the completed item.
Imbuing an item with Inspire Courage or Fasicinate costs 25 xp, with Inspire Competence 50 xp, with Suggestion 100 xp, and with Inspire Greatness 200 xp. All costs are per the maximum number of targets at activation.
At seventh level, the passioncrafter gains the ability to embed a number of bardic effects equal to one-half his passioncrafter level. These embedded effects activate simultaneously. The costs to embed any effect after the first doubles.
At eighth level, the passioncrafter may make the embedded abilities permament, allowing them to activate multiple times. A subject can only be affected once per day, and any number of subjects may be effected at a single time. The costs of embedding any effect (including enthralling, passion, and captivating) into an eternal bardic item are 50 times the activation cost for a single subject.
Countersong Potion (Ex)
At second level, the passioncrafter is able to use his Brew Potion feat to create a potion that will grant the drinker the benefits of his countersong ability. The countersong check value is equal to 10+the passioncrafter's Craft bonus. As an unfortunate side effect, if the drinker does not succeed at a Fortitude save, DC equal to the countersong check, he suffers a -10 penalty to all Listen checks.
Craft Lore
At third level, the passioncrafter adds his passioncrafter level, plus his passioncraft bonus, to any bardic knowledge checks he makes that relate to his passion. If the passioncrafter did not have the bardic knowledge ability, he gains it.
Enthralling Object (Ex)
At fourth level, a passioncrafter can imbue any bardic item he creates with an effect identical to the second level bard spell, enthrall. The will save DC for this effect is equal to 10+the passioncrafter's craft bonus. The enthralling effect can only be activated once, and thereafter the item is a normal masterwork item. The effect can potentially affect all who can perceive it at activation - lower hit dice targets are effected first. The effect is activated with whatever other effects are embedded in the bardic item simultaneously.
Imbuing an item with the enthralling ability costs an additional 50 xp per the maximum number of targets at activation.
Passion Object (Ex)
At sixth level, a passioncrafter can imbue any bardic item he creates with an effect identical to the third level bard spell, emotion. The Will save DC for this effect is equal to 10+the passioncrafter's craft bonus. The passion effect can only be activated once, and thereafter the item is a normal masterwork item. The effect can potentially affect all who can perceive it at activation - lower hit dice targets are effected first. The effect is activated with whatever other effects are embedded in the bardic item simultaneously.
Imbuing an item with the passion ability costs an additional 100 xp per the maximum number of targets at activation.
Competent Craft (Ex)
At fifth level, all competency bonuses that would apply to the passioncrafter's passion stack. If the passioncrafter has no passion, he does not receive this bonus.
Captivating Object (Ex)
At sixth level, a passioncrafter can imbue any bardic item he creates with an effect identical to the fourth level bard spell, hold monster. The save DC for this effect is equal to 10+the passioncrafter's craft bonus. The captivating effect can only be activated once, and thereafter the item is a normal masterwork item. The effect can potentially affect all who can perceive it at activation - lower hit dice targets are effected first. The effect is activated with whatever other effects are embedded in the bardic item simultaneously.
Attacking a subject who is capitivated ends the effect for that subject.
Imbuing an item with the captivating ability costs an additional 200 xp per the maximum number of targets at activation.
Symbolic Object (Su)
At tenth level, a passioncrafter can imbue an eternal bardic item he creates with an effect identical to the eighth level wizard spell, symbol. The save DC for this effect is equal to 10+the passioncrafter's craft bonus. A subject can only trigger the symbolic effect once per day, but the effect can potentially affect all who can perceive it at activation - lower hit dice targets are effected first. The effect is activated with whatever other effects are embedded in the bardic item simultaneously.
Symbols of Death, Pain, and Sleep cannot be embedded in this manner, and any given bardic item may only have one embedded symbol.
Imbuing an item with the symbolic ability costs a one time fee of 5000 xp, plus an additional 500 xp per the maximum number of targets per day. A symbolic object cannot affect more than its maximum number of targets, despite the fact that it is embedded in an eternal bardic item.
Edit: fixed a few things I missed.
