As you wander among village streets and wilderness paths, during the night when the stars shine, and a soft breeze caresses the skin, you can meet a man wearing a plain white kimono and an old brown belt.

Kerall would smile and greet you, and then ask:

"Were you looking for me? Yes, I can teach you the way of the fist, and the styles of the stars, and of the panther and thunder. The only thing I ask, is your promise to fight for and with honor".

The Dojo under the Stars
Master: Kerall
Record: 12-12

Styles taught: Northstar, Southern Cross, Fist, Panther, Thunder
Students:
The Shadowed Poet (learning Northstar)
Jezter6 (learning Thunder)

News come round that Kerall is now teaching the Panther and Thunder styles as well, and that he will accept Green Belt students too.

This is an odd post. I would like to join your dojo now, and take the fist style as my dojo style, and this is right before I accept your challenge in a fight. How do you feal about that? Strange, no? Can we declare it to NOT count against the dojo, if you accept both such offers?

Uhm.... fairly strange situation. Technically, the match has yet to begin, since I haven't posted an insult yet. So, you can join before the match begin. This gives you a small edge (having the Fist style), and whatever the result, the dojo record will go to 9-6. Or, you can join after the match, in which case the dojo record will go to either 9-5 or 8-6. Your choice. :)

edit: let's keep the discussion to the fight thread

edit2: the dojo record doesn't suffer from internal matches; the difference between wins and losses stays the same.

Kerall heads towards a clearing, and then waits for Sanctus to reach him. A storm is brewing somewhere in the distance, and thunder can be heard...

Master Kerall, I seek to learn the way of Thunder. I am you disciple for the time being, and I will report to you after every victory and failure, so that you may see my progress as your student.

(Sanctus joins the Dojo, after being beaten by the Dojo's master. He wishes to learn the skill that will let him win matches that come as close as that battle was.)

My name is Sanctus Togashi, the Swordsman. I will master the Thunder Style, and learn the strategies that have defeated me, so that I can become a greater warrior!

Kerall quickly wipes a tear from his eye. "You can't possibly conceive, Sanctus, how important is this moment for me. I had much to atone for, and I feel that in teaching the way of honor, finally my redemption is complete".

The white-clothed man looks at the open sky, murmuring a short prayer, and then looks at his new student with newfound resolve.

"Do you hear the storm coming, Sanctus? It is coming right this way. The beasts of the woods flee and hide, but we will wait. Before it's over, you'll know how a good storm can be your friend..."

The training is hard and long, but when Sanctus for the first time is able not to wince under Kerall's Thunder moves, only then the first ray of sunlight indicates that calm is returning.

OoC:
Sanctus now has the dojo style Thunder.
