[YB] Kerall's Dojo - Merak come and read!

"You are still looking to prove yourself". Kerall nods. "Only you can decide when your way will be complete. I will be waiting for you".

OoC:
You're switching to Rathan's dojo to learn Dragon, I've seen? But why did you fall to Yellow Belt - before the fight with Mirashi Iso, you were just D1, and he didn't corrupt.

(To learn the styles my character concept was originally intended to learn, before he moved up tier. I'll be back if I win my next match and become a Green Belt again, hopefully on a new up-turn of wins.)

(Because Rathan's a Green Belt, I'm dropping a tier so I can master his style in one fight. He mentioned intentions to go to the path of light after turning a Brown Belt, so I'm going to get my learning done now. I'll be back after a win (hopefully).

Master, I have lost a fight against Ratasal, a greedy follower of the lure of the Yen. I have fallen to a Green Belt, Dishonored 1, with a 4-2 record. I am sorry for so disgracing my Dojo. I assure you, I will restore my, and your, honor, with a little time.

I have given the matter thought, and am not going to open my own dojo at this time. I do not feel ready.

"Well, it looks like Ratasal got me too. It's a real pity that he only seeks money; he could be a great fighter if he followed a righteous path..."

Dojo record: 12-12

The familiar form of Mirashi Iso can be seen shimmering into existance near Kerall.

"Ah, greetings to you, my old foe. You're almost like an old friend... except for the part where I viciously beat you, of course."

Mirashi smiles as he continues to speak.

"Your dojo does not appear to be doing well... one of your students fails to learn no matter how much you teach him, and the other is an incompetent fop who's tongue is sharper than his sword. I take great pleasure in having personally dealt two blows to your pathetic school. Perhaps soon it will be dishonored, as it should be."

Mirashi's grin widens.

"In fact, I could defeat your entire school together in one match. Of course, I'm sure you don't have the guts to take me on..."

"Mirashi Iso". The honor fighter nods in acknowledgement. "Hmmm..."

Kerall thinks about the proposal for a while. "First of all, my dojo is currently fairly small. I haven't seen jezter6 in quite a while, so I suppose it would be just me and Merak".

"I will not force Merak to take part in this. But if he agrees too, then we will accept your challenge".

The warrior frowns. "And if he doesn't, then I will take you on. By myself."

...but first, I need to know a couple things about multiple matches. How do they affect dojo rankings? Can you attempt to Corrupt both of us if we lose?

Fights with Multiple Fighters
Free For Alls
While there are many possible ways to do fights with more than one fighter, here is the preferred method. In fights with multiple fighters, judges are encouraged to keep score a little differently. The match should be fought for a predetermined amount of flags, between 5 and 12. Each fighter in the match begins with the set amount of flags already in their possession. Each successful hit against them removes as many flags as the move scored points.

Fighters each post one move as normal and must direct who the move is targeted at. Judges discern winners of each contest as normal. However, points can only be scored (i.e. flags removed) by the one attacking. Thus if one fighter attacks a second who is in turn attacking a third, if the move of the second is superior to both the 1st and 3rd then only the 3rd would lose flags in the exchange. When a fighter is out of flags, the fighter is out of the fight.

Losing in a fight with multiple fighters only causes the loser to lose one rank as normal. However, the winner gets to advance 1 rank for each fighter he outlasted (and extra ranks if those outlasted were of a higher tier than he) up to a maximum of 4 ranks.

Team Fights
An alternative to free for all fights are those fights in which the fighters are fighting in teams. In such fights, each team should get 2 flags for each tier possessed by the members of that team. A team of three white belts would have 6 flags. A team of 2 Green Belts would have 12 flags and a team comprised of only a single Brown Belt would have 8 flags.

Each member of the team generates a move and directs it at one of the opposing team. Moves are judged as normal, however, points can only be scored by the one attacking. Scored points remove flags from the opposing team. The first team to run out of flags loses.

Each fighter on the winning team receives 1 rank and each fighter on the losing team loses 1 rank. If the losing team had more flags to begin with than the winning team then the winning team gains 1 extra rank for each member. If the losing team had twice as many flags (or more) as the winning team than the winning team gains 2 extra ranks for each member.

Multiple fighters and death matches
Death matches with multiple fighters work best with free-for-alls and the fighters losing all their flags are killed. Each such death gains an extra rank for the winner up to a maximum of 2 extra ranks over the maximum of 4 ranks.

I see nothing about either Corruption or dojo rankings. My guess would be that you'd suffer two losses, but no clue about Corruption. I think yes, but I'm not sure.

Also, feel free to reinstate your challenge... I won't be around after Monday until the new year starts. I doubt this fight would start before then.
