Rathan's 1st hand:

1: The fox speaks by the castle; dodges the touch of the shell!

2: The turtle rains upon the island; shields the offensive of the shell!

3: The claw falls from the swamp; dodges the foray of the horn!

4: The willow tumbles near the canyon; spins in the midst of the onslaught of the cave!

5: The speeding phoenix slashes upon the rapids; protects against the stab of the reptile!


Sanctus Togashi's 1st hand:

1: The dagger ravages the grotto; averts the energy of the iron!

2: The willow slaughters the ravine; grasps the storm of the iron!

3: The southern cross obliterates the badlands; dodges the blood of the flower!

4: The spear charges the cavern; avoids the efforts of the flame!

5: The nunchaku assails the canyon; removes the edge of the garden and suddenly defends against the energy of the mire!

 

[Rathan]

" Here's a move I never tought you Togashi......."

*Rathan Smiles....*

"Damnable, your in a hurry? Rushing like that. The Dragon clan has long shared the northern boundaries with the Pheonix, watching the dangers of the far north, and yet wary of the battles waging in the south. No, I have seen this technique before, by many a former opponent, at many a former duel, may my experience be the wisdom to prevent to grievous a wound, and may my Hyugen-Yari be a match for your blade."

Togashi defends himself from the efforts of his opponent by avoiding the strike, and instead hoping to fool rathan into being struck by the 'lazy line' of the Hyugen-Yari side-strike.

"You two sure know how to make it tough to judge a fight! Both moves are excellent, with good offenses and appropriate defenses on each side. But Sanctus has a slight edge on his almost perfect defense against the phoenix's flame.

"Round one to Sanctus. One flag Sanctus Togashi, zero flags for Rathan."

Turning to the wall behind him, Patch slashes it with his still extended claw, carving a foot long gouge out of the wall to mark Sanctus's single flag.

 

[Rathan]

*Rathan summons a clawed beast to drop down apon his opponent slashing and biting at him....*

"Rathan, what is wrong? Are you sick, ill perhaps? You do not seem to me as one of those whom would summon up a creature to do battle with?"

Sanctus backslashes with his Yari, and then thrusts through the crescent cut of his weapon, to impale the summoned creature.

 

[Rathan]

"I really don't know what's wrong with me... there's something in the air that's just not right.... I can't put my finger on it..... but something is certainly not right... I'll try harder Sanctus..."

Patch blows a smoke ring from his mouth and, without a word, turns to the wall behind him and claws another mark beside the first...

Round 2: Two flags for Sanctus, zero flags for Rathan

*Rathan jumps high and pounces apon his former student with the turtle style..... raining fists and kicks down from above.... all the while defending himself with the styles.. shell defence....*

Sanctus breaks off the three blades of his Yari, then flings them at his opponent as he comes down. With a smooth motion, Sanctus brings his staff up to handle the close range combat, hoping the daggers hit their mark.
