(YBA) Akimura Ken'ichi no longer needs a DM. [closed]

Ciaran

First Post
With nothing but the clothes on his back and the scars in his heart, Ken trudges down one of the countless backwoods roads of Cathay. He's spoiling for a fight. Surely it won't be long before he finds something to hit.

(Would anyone like to run an adventure? With lots of "you killed my family, prepare to die" angst? If so, just let me know!)

Well, I've got a non character-specific adventure that I'd be will to run you through. But I have very little playing experience and no DMing experience, so be prepared for a cheesy cliché!

(Sure, give it a shot. If I'm unhappy with the results, I'll let you know. Every new DM can use some critiquing. And as for clichés, sometimes they work very well. "Cheesy" doesn't sound quite so appealing though... maybe you can tone down the cheese? :D )

(No cheese? But that recks half the game! I'll have to take out my Cheese Golums, the Half-Cheese Necromancer, the Cheese Genasi, and the Chedder-Infused Swiss Archlich;))

Ken walks down the road for about an hour, so embroiled in thoughts of revenge that he doesn't notice the fact that a gorge is on the right of the path. He stumbles, and is sent tumbling down the side of a ravine. He smacks into the ground, completely winded.

"Ow! ouch! oh!"

Ken picks himself up, dusts himself off, and quietly curses whatever Fortune put this damned ravine in his way. Then he looks for a climbable stretch of ravine wall so he can get back up to the road and continue on his way.

Ken finds that if he had fallen three inches farther, he would have brained himself on a slab of solid stone. As his eyes flick upward, he sees that there is a half-rotted door about five feet from where he stands. Having identified the immediate surroundings, he looks for a means of getting out of his current predicament; he sees that to ascend the cliff which he has just fallen from would be impossible. However, if he walked up at an angle it would not be impossible to get back on the road again. He is then distracted from his assessment of his surroundings by a voice from behind him. Whirling around, Ken sees a gaunt, black-haired figure leading a mule through the jungle.

"Who are you?"

Puzzling over the fact that, somehow, a jungle has grown in this narrow ravine, Ken replies, "My personal name is Ken'ichi and my family name is Akimura. Who are you?"

(I guess that when you said you were using a cheesy cliché, you weren’t kidding about the cheese. You aren’t even going to try for Asian fantasy, are you?)

"You’re a Western devil, aren’t you?" replies Ken. "I’m looking for a fight. Maybe you’ll oblige me by giving me one."
