(YBA) Kalath in the Sewers of the City of the Bard

One of the cultist chuckles, It sounds a bit like sandpaper. "I am sure you are.... He is not here yet, but you must be here for the ceremony tonight. You have found the wrong room. If you want I will lead you to the proper chamber where you may wait until we are ready for you."

"Good, lead on, then."

 

[Wicht]

The cultist heads into the hall, brushing past Kalath and walks east. As Kalath follows him, the other three cultists form a line behind the fighter. The leading cultist walks to the last door on the north side of the hallway and after fiddling with some locks, opens it. He motions to Kalath that he may enter.

On the other side Kalath sees a reasonably comfortable room with a fireplace, two padded chairs and a selection of books. There is a cheerful fire in the fireplace.

"You may wait in here." says the cultist.

Kalath heads into the room and stops once he is just inside the door. "Thank you."

Kalath waits for the cultists to leave, prepared to keep the door just slightly open even if the cultists attempt to close and lock it after they leave.

 

[Wicht]

"Enjoy your stay."

The cultist slams the door shut.

Kalath can make an attempt to force it to stay open.

The cultist's attempt to slam it: The tree glides upon the river; dominates the storm of the comet!

Kalath tries to keep the door open!

The chimera swims atop the vineyard; defends against the foray of the bamboo!

Kalath just manages to bounce back the door.

"Inside!" barks the leading cultist, and then slyly, "You don't want to miss the sacrifice tonight do you?"

The other three are taking up a stance behind him.

"Oh, of course not... but I'd like to be there on, shall we say, my own terms. A closed door would not be conductive to those terms. 'Twould be a terrible pity to miss the sacrifice, but even more so to be the sacrifice...."

Kalath slips out of the room and stands in front of the door, pushing the door fully open behind him.
