(YBA) Lovecraft in the Cathayan Tombs

Flinching from the blow, Lovecraft looks for a weakness in the walking monstrosity. Ducking under one of its blows, Lovecraft sends a punch into it's stomach.


The northstar punches underneath the atoll; silences the energy of the tides!

Rose Mummy (2/4) attacks you: The joyful claw annihilates the cemetery; leaps over the blood of the isle!

Finding an opening, you move in for the kill... and walk right into its next blow, as it moves with unexpected speed to slash you across the chest with thorny claws, inflicting 1 hit. The mummy emits a strange, shrill piping noise. As you stagger back, blood trickling down your torso, more of the thing's dead buds burst into scarlet blossoms, emitting a thick, cloying perfume that strangles your breath in your throat.

A stoney stare drops over Lovecraft's face as all fear is washed away from his mind. Like a machine, Lovecraft attacks the undead thing. First dropping into a crouch and attempting a leg sweep.


The emerald chimera sweeps over the clearing; wards off the throw of the grave!


OOC: I will use my Fated ability if the creature hits me.

Rose Mummy (2/4) attacks you: The wrathful northstar slides by the heavens; averts the touch of the wind!

The undead thing rushes towards you, thorny hands outstretched, but your leg sweep sends it stumbling. Moving in close, you slash at it with your torch and set its shoulder aflame, inflicting 1 hit. In retaliation, it knocks your torch flying. The torch goes out in a shower of sparks and ash. Only the flicker of pale blue flames on the mummy’s wrappings illuminates the room as it closes in on you…

"I must end this quickly or I am Doomed!" thinks Lovecraft. He lowers his shoulder and charges into the vile creature.


The dragon brutalizes the well; shreds the pain of the insect!

Rose Mummy (2/4) attacks you: The crab penetrates the cavern; shields the motion of the sky!

You knock the mummy backward with your charge. It falls to the ground, but seems otherwise unharmed by the attack. Nonetheless, the flames crackle higher along its body, inflicting 1 hit. It scuttles towards you, blazing, its limbs clacking loudly on the stone floor.

"This is my last chance to finish this." thinks Lovecraft. Jumping u he attempts to stomp down on the burning thing.


The weasel illuminates the wastelands; avoids the assailment of the garden!

Rose Mummy (1/4) attacks you: The scorpion sweeps with the orchard; fends off the assailment of the rodent!

The mummy scuttles toward you. Orange and blue flames lick at its wrappings, and wisps of ash drift through the air. Its arms whistle through the air like falling branches. Ducking beneath its grasp, you trip it and send it stumbling to the ground. Before it can rise, you smash at it with irrational strength. It squeals and tries to rise, then crumples. Red petals wither in the flames as it burns.

You gain 3 hits defeated.

The burning mass of the mummy is the only light remaining to you. And it will burn itself out soon enough...

With his last fading light, Lovecraft will search for anything to that he could make a torch or light of.

Looking over your shoulder, you observe the fallen form of the other mummy you destroyed in this room, a thick pool of black ichor oozing outward from beneath its bulk. The creature's wrappings should serve to renew your torch.
