Elven fighter named Lanolin. I had a player once name a Malkavian vampire Aston Martin. Many of the NPCs in my Pathfinder game are second or third generation puns, but I also snuck in an Aasimar paladin named Zauriel and named a gang of dwarven fighters all after old English kings (resulting in a running joke wherein one of my players would demand to know if Aethelred was ready at every opportunity).

Howzabout an extremely charismatic and popular Clc/Sorc who emphasizes fire spells? Even has Energy Substitution and Energy Admixture.

His name? Friar Ball.

Recently made up a gnome tinkerer named Artud D'Etou, with a pet phantom fungus named See-thru Pio.

Also, at some point I want to run that uber-munchkinned 3.5 infinite kobold build. What's his "official" name? Oh whatever, I'll just call him Danny Alcatraz.

*blush*

May I humbly suggest Zartacla Ynnad?

Hmm...that has a vaguely "gypsy" vibe to it, doesn't it?

"I am ZARTACLA YNNAD!- I see all, I mock all!"

Fair enough:

Zartacla Ynnad, kobold Blood Mage, he who harnesses the powers of Blood, Black Bile, Phlegm, Yellow Bile, and (of course) Pun, the lowest form of Humor.

Rather than dusting off and necroing an older thread, I figure I'd just start anew with...

I've been playing drow for quite some time- predating the appearance of Drizzt by several years- partly because they were the only black race available in D&D- somewhat of an issue for me as a black gamer. (Obviously, I know humans could be non-white, but swarthy humans were virtually non-existent in the campaign worlds I was playing in...).

Because of this, they've always been near the top of races for me to choose when designing a new PC, but I haven't done one in some time.

However, the next time I DO play a drow, I already have a name for him or her: J.R.R. Token.

I know what you mean. I'm a black gamer as well, and I usually tend to make my (human) characters black, much to the amusement of my DM.

[aside] I think there is an inherent fear of white DM's to "correctly" portray a "black" persona. Most of my attempts degenerate into vague stereotypes and cliche. [/aside]

I've had great number of Sci-fi RPG characters named "Roger Wilco".
The next Modern character I make is going to be called Mike Tango, freelance detective. The name came to me when I was phonetically spelling out a customer's name to a co-worker and she thought "Mike Tango" was the customer.

I also just noticed that the initials "M.T." could also represent "empty", which could be a pun in an of itself... maybe one that's a bit too clever, though. ;)
