Yet another joke name thread!

True, but they were both designed by the same special-effects creator, Robert Kinoshita.

I can't be sure, but the same voice actor may also have worked on both productions as well.

Like I need any more PC's w/funny names, but I thought up another while on a nice walk yesterday afternoon: a aristocratic, adulterous, redheaded, sonic spell-focused sorceress named Lady Shatterly.

Of course she'll have a strapping young woodsman (ranger) companion character who accompanied her after she ran out on her paraplegic husband. His proper name will be Mellows but she's call him Strider. Wait, make that "Longstrider".

Their scandalous story will be immortalized in a local limerick that goes something like this:

There once was a woodsman named Mellows
Who could pump night and day like a bellows
He dipped his wick in his Lord's fire
And thus drew his ire
Now he's lost the good fellowship of his fellows

(I never met a joke I couldn't take too far)

This one just spontaneouly popped into my head earlier:

A revolutionary leader and general operating on the the border of a desert kingdom who gets his name from his distinctive rain cape: Poncho Villa.

Works even better in a campaign set in the Old West.

No, I'm pretty sure Kinoshita designed both Robby (from Forbidden Planet) and The Robot (from Lost in Space).
Regardless of having the same designer, they are two completely different robots, and Pbartender made the wrong reference. Robby is not known for the "Danger..." line.

It ain't a big deal, and I didn't mean for this to become an ongoing argument, but I hate to be told I'm wrong on something I'm obviously right about -- Robby (FP) is not The Robot (LIS).

So my wife and I were watching Duck Soup the other night, which reminded me of another idea I had for a (sorta) modern-day character...

... a disheveled, possibly homeless veteran of the Freedonia/Sylvania war with PTSD and delusions he's the president named Rufus T. Firefight.
