In the game I'm playing in, I have a human (variant) Cleric/Wizard Sage, using standard array (I actually would have preferred to roll, then to point buy, but everyone was to use SA).

I have made several characters as an exercise for learning the game, and I really like pretty much all of the standard races that I have tried out so far: variant humans, mountain dwarves, high elves, and stout halflings. That said, I am playing a variant human cleric of Helm, so that is how I voted.

My group's PCs: Half-Elf (m) Ranger, Human (Rashemi)(f) Wizard, Mountain Dwarf (m) Fighter, Wood Elf (m) Druid, Hill Dwarf (f) Cleric, Lightfoot Halfling (f) Rogue.

If I were playing, I'd want to be using a Vryloka (home-brew adaption of a 4e race by Remathilis on ENWorld) Warlock.
