Don't build worlds, build campaign settings. Worlds are too far reaching for players to buy into, focus on the 800 x 800 square miles you are going to be playing in, then expand as needed.

- sometimes you have to say NO - players will want a lot of things, races, classes, etc. sometimes they just do not fit and it is up to you to say NO!
- to have players buy in, remember that for every action, there is a reaction. If the players do something, like burn down a tavern; don't forget about it. think about what effects it will have; things like what is the owner doing now, does it get re-built, how long, etc.
