There are three great locations used in my games (from the few issues of Dungeon I've had):

Thunderdelve (Issue 62) - great detail on the dwarves living there and their history
Khazefryn (Issue 81) - an abandoned mind flayer monastery over a number of islands ruled by two black dragons. Wonderfully claustrophobic and atmospheric. Included a memorable PC death in my game :]
The Goblin's Lair from Depths of Rage (Issue 83) - ravaged by an earthquake part-way through the scenario making escape all the more tricksy!

Don't have any stand-out villains. None have really stood up to be counted in the games I've run from the magazines.

I think my favorite location what, hmm, I think the adventure was called the "House of Cards". Old school adventure about a thieves guild war I think. It was a long time ago, I'll see if I can dig up the issue number. I think it was in the 30's or 40's.

I really liked Flame, but I think I liked this other wizard more. I think it was in issue 18 or 19. He had hawks imprinted on his robes and held a keep on top of a mountian. It was a great adventure and hard as hell for 1st edition. I log on later tonight with more info on that too.

Location: The outpost in Fedifensor. Way too long ago for me to recall the issue number!

That's Dragon magazine #67 - although I thought Dungeon also did a similar githyanki outpost at some point.
