Christmas-time at my parent's house is cookie experimentation time. One year we decided to try a dozen different chocolate-chip recipes, another year oatmeal. For four of us, we ususally make 8 or 10 dozen cookiees. Not sure what this year will be -- maybe chocolate-chip *and* oatmeal.

I look forward to my Cadbury cream eggs at Eastertime. When I was little we used to make a lot of home-made Easter candy, but don't any more.

For the record, though, peeps are an abomination that I'm certain are outlawed by the Geneva Convention. Yeech. Same with pumpkin pie.

People have better holidays then I do. I'm comeing to realize this.
Come have Thanksgiving with us!! We're going to have a great big meal with lots of friends since none of us are going home! There will be pork, turkey, potatoes, sweet potatoes, stuffing, pie, ice cream, corn! It's going to ROCK!! :D

At Christmas, I always have those crappy anise cookies called Jingles. You know, the ones with the red and green sprinkles on them. I love the way they turn the milk funky colors.

Oh, and for Thanksgiving my wife makes this pumpkin spice cake that is to die for. It's so good, I'll never eat pumpkin pie again.

My wife is a nut for pumpkin pie. I think I'll make another peanut butter pie for Thanksgiving. The one I made last year went over well.
Other goodies we like are my wife's sausage rolls and my mother's Scottish short bread. She makes it a lot moister and denser than most of the store-bought varieties.

And lemon meringue pie, apparently. ;)

Ahh, now I'm in the mood to bake, but I probably won't have time until this week-end. *sigh*

Pumpkin is acceptable any time of the year.

It is, but the stores don't think so. I believe I mentioned I'm lazy? :p

I need JimAde to come bake a lemon meringue pie for my fiancee! He loves lemon-flavored things.

Anyone here familiar with chess pie? I do wish my mom was still around to make me one of those... I know how, but it requires a major adjustment to my earlier point. :D
