I chose Greco-Roman, Norse and Egyptian. The gap between these three and the others is not even close for me. Looking forward to seeing them all statted up for 3e in the near future, whether it's D&Dg or IH.

I formally apologize for trying to help, and I will never do so again in the future. So much for "caring".

That's good.

BTW I think most people on these boards are educated enough to know what 'mythology' is and that it's not a term of denigration!

information ...

can some one point to a quick background site for persian mythology ... I'm ok with indian, and pretty good with babylo-sumerian ...

(psst: Norse, Babylonian/sumerian, celt, indian)

Polynesian

Well my ancestry goes straight back to Polynesian and so my first vote must go there

PLEASE NOTE Oceanic does not equal Polynesian although the three Oceanic culture regions do share some common myths (Maui a Taranga in particular) but are in fact quite different

Also Polynesian does not equal Hawaiian. Hawaiian myth is firmly rooted in the Polynesian paradigm but is a somewhat unique expression of same.

Following Votes are
Summerian
Judeo-Christian
Celtic
Greek (Hero Legends rather than god myths)
Norse
Slavic
various African
Mongol

Well the whole shebang really:)

Where's the Cthulhu pantheon? It's totally real. My brother's friend has seen a real copy of the Necronomicon locked in a back room at the UMass library. It's the honest to goodness truth.

P.S. Central American (Aztec), Egyptian, Indian (Hindu/Vedic)

I'm suprised you forgot the most influential mythology on the western world:

Christianity.

I'd probably pick it because it's history is well documented enough and is utterly full of creative plot hooks and enough scandels to build a lifetime of adventures for a campaign.

I voted Other and Norse...the "Other" was Christianity. And It hought I didn't ageree with Arcady on anything:)

So many great plot hooks. If anyone's interested, I'd be happy to post my Champions campaign that was based on the unfolding events from teh book of Revelation.

The Four Horsemen ruled:)
