Your input on the level adj. of this race...

First Post
Okay, first of all I just want to say 'hello'... this is my first post in about 3 years and even back then I didn't post too often.

Second of all, I wanted to get some community input on this race that one of my player's (with my input) is creating. We are trying to assign an appropriate level adjustment to it and can't seem to agree. I'm just going to run down the basics and hopefully that will be enough for all of you. If not, just let me know!

-Gorrath-
Large size
+6 STR, +4 CON, -2 INT, -4 CHA
speed 30', climb 20'
+8 racial bonus to climb checks and can always take a 10, even when 'under pressure'
low light vision
natural armor +2
+4 racial bonus to intimidate
Illiterate

The basic premise is that the Gorrath are primitive, tribal gorilla-men

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Many "if"s to follow...

I'd start by saying +2. The stats and the natural armor are pretty good.

If standard armor is generally unavailable to them or unusable by them, subtract 1.

If they get reach for being Large, add 1.

If the campaign is in a mostly Jungle or Forrest area, add 1, due to the climbing abilities. If pretty much everybody has a climb speed, don't worry about this.

If reach and climb-intensive campaign, possibly add 2, but that seems a bit much.

Thanks for the input! +2 is about what I was coming up with using the calculator as well, but knowing that it isn't an exact science, the extra opinions from you helped solidify my decision. I'll try to post the race when it's finished with a finished write-up for anybody who is interested.
