What D20/D&D purchases have you made in the last 4 weeks and what did you think of them?

Mine:

Abysthor (S&S studios/Necromancer) I like it so far, but have read less than 10 %. I'm sure I will use some of it.

What Evil Lurks (S&S) Oops! I didn't realize it was for 9th level characters. I would probably not have bought it just yet. I have not read much of this either, but it looks ok.

Kalamar, "The Invasion of Arun Kid". Again, have not read much of it, but the maps and illustrations are INCREDIBLE. I WILL use them in my game, as I have used maps and handouts from several Kalamar adventures. Most notably "Siren's Prize".

BTW, I haven't read much of these cuz I just got them a day and a half ago.

Spycraft: Haven't read too much of it, mainly the vehicle chase rules and firearms. I like it so far.

Call fo Cthulhu: Have read most of it. Running first game weekend after next. Anxious to play.

That's it for the month of April... Looking forward to the revised Star Wars. And there's Morrowind for the XBOX next month as well, but that's not D20 or D&D now is it?

Honest to goodness RPG purchases:

Spells & Spellcraft - Good. Some neat ideas, thought some of the ideas are not well executed.

Deities & Demigods - Interesting book, but I really see getting only minimal use out of it.

Hero 5th - Whoa, this book is thick! But it's HERO with a new coat of paint. Very nice.

I also got scads of review product from Mongoose and Green Ronin. For my impressions of those, see the reviews page. :)

Spycraft,Call of Cthulhu, Legions of hell, psionics tool kit, of sound mind, Dieties and demi-gods, slayers guide to bugbears, Death in free port, terror in freeport, freeport city of adventure, Book of Eldrich might 2.

Most of these i've only had time to glance through, but everything looks good so far.

What D&D/D20 books?

  • What Evil Lurks. Not read it yet but I've flicked through and it's got great promise I think.
  • Tomb of Abysthor. Not started reading yet but like most NecGames product, it looks good.
  • Secrets & Socities. A Scarred Lands book which I'm reading at the moment. Not bad, easily convertable to other settings.
  • Denizens of Darkness. Another really good monsters book that can be used generically. For a gothic style setting, the artwork is not very gothic.
  • Afrika Corpse. Weird Wars sourcebook for the war in North Africa. Lots of detail. A good purchase.

There were a few other non-D20 purchases as well, and I wonder where my paycheck goes each month... :D

Balders Gate 2 & Throne of Baal (PC) My old PC could hardly run Balders Gate so this was an essential buy, even though its a bit of an oldy got it on discount

Dark Ages of Camalot (PC) One of my gaming groups bullied me into getting this and getting online, not that it took much.. ;)

Dungeon Seige (PC) But ti didn't work so I had to take it back today, lets see if its alright tonight....

Age of Empires:Rise of Rome (PC see a theme here?) Love the game and now I can get online too.. :)
