I'll be there as a judge, running something crazy like 7 slots for the sake of a free place to shower and sleep.
Hrm. . . Well. . .
I think I officially don't like it.
I was trying to keep an open mind and will likely pick up at least the new PHB at some point, but it really doesn't seem for me or for my group. . . Though I might grab some stuff that does appeal to me for use in my house-ruled 3.x game. (We already have a rule we call 'second wind' but it is only after combat is over, required 10 minutes of rest and gives you a small percentage of your hit points back).
It might be fun to play some one-shots with it though.
But who knows, I could play it or read the book and change my mind. It just doesn't seem likely to me right now.

However, I've been playing inside the 3e-ruts for eight years now, so I'm ready for some new ruts.
When 3e launched, the ensuing creative re-think of my games sort of re-kindled my love for D&D, and made for some memorable campaigns* (some of which were chronicled on this website, next to those of the friends I made while trying to learn about 3e.)
I don't think I'm as disenchanted with the game right now as I was in 1999, nor do I expect the same level of creative rush that the 3e launch inspired. That said, the best parts of D&D don't have anything to do with the ruleset at all; if the rules can be interesting and fun enough to add value to the storytelling and companionship that my games already have without annoying everyone in the room (coughclericsintheouterplanesin2ecough) it's a win.
