You've all been imagining these boards...

Well, that was fun

Many of you probably noticed that the server went down for a couple of hours tonight,

Talking to CI Host, their response was that the server was cancelled (by me) on Novmber 14th, 2001. The only way I can rationalise this is to assume that EN World is imaginary. You have all been imagining this for the last 4 months. This is a mass hallucination spreading across several continents.

The funny bit is - when confronted with such logic, the CI Host people don't budge an inch. They say they have a request for cancellation dated November 14th, 2001. It was actually switched off this evening, March 19th, 2002. They do not, or cannot, see an inconsistency in this. Either their system screwed up on Nov 14th, or they took 4 months to cancel an account - they can't have it both ways. This basic logic escapes them.

Add to this the fact that they've bene happily accepting money from me for the last 4 months. This from a 'cancelled account'. :)

Words escape me.

Well since a fair number of us spend our time imagining realms other then those based in reality, it is entirely possible to say that we are indeed imagining these boards. *grin* Seen "A Beautiful Mind"??

Try these: "morons," "crack addicts," "retarded"

I'm sure one of these will accurately describe the CI Host personell. ;)

*SIGH* I hate stupid people. I bet they would've been right on top of things had you missed a payment. From your "cancelled" account.

They changed their story eventually - in the end it turned out the server crashed. Or so they now say.

Thank god, it was only a dream. I had this horrible vison of hours without end sitting in front of the EN World Logo. The blue pulsing one. My wife came to me with a slip of paper showing how if I had only applied myself during that time I would have a PHD (in engineering, chemistry, physics, particle accelerators, and Semotics).

Now that horrible dream world can fade back into my subconcious, and I can return to my happy productive life.

Morrus,

Sometimes, large businesses and corporations are such slaves to company policy it makes them look like (Phallic appellation deleted)s, even when they really aren't.

I dealt with a multinational Corporation two years ago, after returning from Gencon. This corporation (which is a retailer over 100 years old and is famous for their catalogs, yet shall remain nameless) was called after my Central Air broke, in 95 degree weather. They claimed that my warranty, on my unit that I JUST put on Credit with them) was not covered by warranty (A FREAKING SEVEN YEAR WARRANTY, MIND YOU). I fought for 2 1/2 months in 85 to 95 degree Fahrenheit weather to get them to repair a 200 dollar part. Eventually it took my wife threatening legal action before they fixed it. SO, this company (may God curse their black hearts to BELOW the ninth level of Hell) eventually made it right, but only after constant badgering and legal threats.

All because they were self-admittedly quite happy to take more money from me for repairs, yet warranty repair had me shuttling from sales rep to sales rep, because apparently NO ONE KNEW HOW TO HANDLE ME.

That was without a doubt the worst retail experience I have ever had from them. I promised myself I would never buy another thing from them as long as I lived. I have not set foot in any of their outlets since, and I tell this story to everyone I meet, just to let them know about the shoddy customer relations of this company. IF I EVER MAKE PURCHASE FROM THEM AGAIN, it will be shortly before I throw myself from the tallest building I can find.

Have a pleasant day. :) You certainly aren't alone.

Morrus--

I also use CI Host for my personal site.

Suffice to say, your experience is not unique.

The best thing I have to say about CI Host is that, if you eventually do get through to someone to do some proper bitching, they make good.

I can't cancel them, they are just too cheap for the amount of space and bandwidth they give me. It's worth the occasional headache.

Morrus - every time you talk about the ENBoards host, I get scary chills up my spine

you're telling us that this entire community's fate rests in the hands of a company like THIS?!

That's really VERY scary, if you think about it, guys. :(
