Spectrum Game Studios and Z-Man Games are working together to produce Omlevex, a Silver Age setting book for the Mutants & Masterminds game via Green Ronin's "Superlink" program. This will be one the first Superlink products to be printed as a full book, instead of a PDF.

"I'm excited to be working on a Superlink project with Eddy and Cynthia," commented Zev Shlasinger, president of Z-Man. "We’ve developed a strong relationship working on Cartoon Action Hour, so it makes sense to combine our efforts again on Omlevex."

M&M fans will find a robust setting, complete with well over 40 character write-ups. Each hero and villain will be bursting at the seams with options, including a modern-day option that adapts the character to be used in contemporary superhero settings.

Furthermore, the book will present information about creating and playing Silver Age characters, as well as a section to help Game Masters run games set in that era. "The Silver Age of comics was a time where the morality of superheroes was becoming more complex, but heroes were still heroes," says Eddy Webb, vice-president of Spectrum. "It compliments the style of morality portrayed in our first product, Cartoon Action Hour, but it has a different edge that we think will appeal to Mutants & Masterminds fans."

A great deal of effort is being put into making the product truly reflective of the genre. According to Cynthia Celeste Miller, "We want this to be a must-have M&M Superlink product on every level. We're very happy with the progress thus far, and we think this will offer something for all M&M players and Game Masters. We also have a staff of talentedartists that are skilled in the Silver Age artistic style, hoping to make Omlevex as visually authentic as possible. We're even in talks with some of the artists who drew comics in the 1960s."

Omlevex will be a 96 page softcover book and is scheduled for a February 2004 release date. Price has yet to be determined.

I just have to say I love Grave Robbers from Outer Space. I'm also looking forward to seeing this.
Almost disappointed: I was hoping to read that Z-Man games was going to release a card game based upon M&M. We were playing Kung Fu Samurai on Giant Robot Island just last night...
(sigh)
Still definitely something to watch for!

It'll be interesting to see which audience this gets.

Silver Age Sentinels may not have been my favorite d20 supers game but it damn well captured the feel of that era. The Tri-Stat version is a great game in and of itself, almost like Champions/Hero but easier to use.

Good luck with this one. It should be an interesting campaign alternative to those looking for it.
