Zombies and Crooks (DM:Mal Malenkirk Judge: Covaithe )

As the Reaper falls to the blades of Jarel-Karn, Montroya moves forward. "Beware inspiring an ally grabbed by the abberant creature! It may absorb the inspiration itself!"

[sblock=ooc]Healing powers may be absorbed by the Ursurper's Minion if it has a creature grabbed, and the grabbed creature is targeted with a healing power.[/sblock]

Raising his staff the deva invokes the power of Apoli, divine lightning streaming from his staff. The lightning is dodged by the tentacled horror but the reaper takes it full force. Montroya calls upon Apoli's Legions to help him. A divine being of fire appears beside the Ursurper's Minion, striking out with it's fiery blade. The Minon must have anticipated the creature's strike for it was easily dodged.

[sblock=OOC]What's good for the goose is the good for the gander, so I'll give Ecce another 24h to act until I run Matal.

But I am conflicted; my rule of thumb when running a PC is to not use ressources (Daily, Encounter or AP), but it is obvious that a barbarian should rage as early as possible in a fight. Argh![/sblock]

[sblock=I am a moron!]Ecce actually said he was unable to post for a few day in his very last post. And I just remember that about six hours before the 'deadline'.

Arg. I could have done this update almost two days ago.

At least I remember that Velmont won't be able to post for about a week so I won't forget to run him right now.

*sigh*

I am sorry.

Matlal is engaged in a fierce struggle with a the remaining reaper but it looks like he might need assistance because the fight is locked in a standstill

The Usurper's Minion is cornered but ressourceful. He suddenly disappear and re-materialize next to Montroya. He is still mostly intanggible, slowly creeping back into reality, but he is still solid enough to lash his shadow tendrils at Montroya. The Deva ducks under the first but is smacked right in the face by the second.

The Invoker is in a dire strait, bloodied and caught against the wall. Jarel realizes this and moves around the tentacled monster and then his sword turns into a lightning lashes that ropes against the horror and pulls it to him.

Matlal VS Reaper
Howling Strike vs AC 19 (1d20+6=11, 1d10+4+1d6=16) miss

Reaper vs Matlal
vs Matlal AC 17 (1d20+10=11, 2d4+4=8) miss

Usurper's Minion
Move: Shdaow Jaunt, teleport to L6:M7
Standard: 2 tendrils
vs AC 17 (1d20+8=11, 1d10+3=11, 1d20+8=28, 1d10+3=7) 1 hit (critical 13), 1 miss (lucky you, 2 hit means a grab effect)

Jarel
Move : To I7
Standard : Lightning Lure
vs Fort 18 (1d20+6=19, 1d6+6=9) hit, pulls the UM 2 square, 1/2 damage because UM is insubstantial
Minor : Mark the UM

I figured you really needed Jarel to move first; Montroya needed breathing room and Andrec needed a flanking partner.

As the Reaper falls to the blades of Jarel-Karn, Montroya moves forward. "Beware inspiring an ally grabbed by the abberant creature! It may absorb the inspiration itself!"
Andrec's head whips around in surprise, his gaze focusing on Montroya "It may WHAT??"

Raising his shield, Andrec prepares to step around the monster, pinning it to the wagon, when it suddenly *disappears*!!
Glancing about the battlefield, Andrec sees the thing go after Montroya, and swings around, his disorientation clearing as Jarel-Karn engages it again. Stepping into close range again, Andrec places him self between the thing and the injured holy warrior, shouting encouragement.
Taking stock of the creature's hazy appearance, Andrec chooses a more careful tactic, "At least until the damn thing solidifies" he mutters under his breath. Holding his shield raised, he makes a series of quick jabs at the creature, forcing it's attention onto him. Once he has it, he cries "Now!," as his faith in the elemental warrior's battle-savvy is rewarded by the expression on the foul thing's alien features as Jarel-Karn's blade slips into its back.

[sblock=actions]Move Action: Move to L7 to block the minion from easily reaching Montroya, and provide flanking to Jarel-Karn.
Minor action: Inspiring Word on Montroya, healing surge+1d6 (1d6+6=10)hp

Hit for 12, but he's insubstantial, so 6 damage total.[/sblock]

[sblock=Invisible Castle]I don't know why, but the BBCode line on the Roll Results page seems to float between formats. sometimes it does the 1d20+7=[15,7] style, and sometimes it does the 1d6+6=10 style. Can anyone explain why?[/sblock]

Andrec's words weren't exactly inspiring, but they got his blood boiling. Seeing that the creature was again locked down, Montroya holds his position, commanding the angel to move around the abberation. It lashes out with it's blade of fire again, which is again dodged.

[sblock=OOC]Hmm, it's the third day. Not sure where Stringbean is but I am not entirely positive I can post tomorrow so I update now.

Ecce and Velmont better come back soon from vacation because it feels kinda weird to update after only two PCs have had input...
[/sblock]

Matlal has had enough. He thrusts his spear with furious strenght and skewer the Reaper.

Seeing the reaper on the brink of death, he rushes him in beast form to push him over the edge, ripping his throat.

The Usurper's minion lashes around him with blinding speed as he moves around the fighter to corner Montroya.

Matlal vs Reaper
vs AC 19 (1d20+6=26, 3d10+4=13) crit. Huh. I finally cracked and decided it was time to rage. Ecce shouldn't be too disappointed with the result... 34 damage!

Matlal OA vs Reaper

After Matlal crits, I want ahead playing the reaper when Mesa was so likely to just flank him and finish him. Which he did Here, cancelling those rolls.

[sblock=OOC]Sorry, Mal. I just got back from an unexpected trip to "we don't need no Internet here" land in Kentucky. Wasn't epecting to go black like that, or else I would have said something. Usually, my laptop and insomnia guarantee no break in posting when I'm on the go, so I didn't think it would be the issue it was. And naturally, once I was there I was stuck...[/sblock]

Mesa released the pressure of his panther form, dust swirling around him as he emerged upright near the fallen foe. He spit the taste of blood from his mouth and said to Matial, "Time t' finish the big one now, right?" Grinning at the fierce barbarian, Mesa moved towards the giant beast and raised his arms to the skies once again.

"Rain down upon it again, great spirits! Strike it with the full fury of yer nature!" Lightning lanced out of the sky, again striking the head of the beast. Mesa grinned in pleasure. "I love my friends..."

[sblock=planning] Andrec's next move requires a decent melee basic attack adjacent to his target. So I'm waiting until Jarel-Karn or someone else reaches melee range before acting. [/sblock]
[sblock=mal]I'm assuming this creature is custom-made (due to the Cthulhu image). If it's not, where is it from? If it is, may I see the whole monster entry after the fight is done? Thanks[/sblock]

Jarel-karn Move next to the wagon and tries to lash the creature to him, but the Usurper evade his blow.

[SBLOCK=OOC]In the previous round, Promise Storm should have still been active (Last until teh end of my next turn), so the Ligthning Lure should have done Promise Storm (1d8=3) more damage. Ligthning lure have done (9+3)/2 = 6 damages instead of 4. That's 2 more point of damage.
