[sblock=OOC]Matlal's is pretty good. Sure he is +6 to hit, but 1d10+4 ain't too shabby. It is not too different from Tor's +7 to hit, 1d8+4.

Also, the monster exists under another name. I'll link it to you after the fight.

[sblock=ooc]Oh, I agree, Matial's is decent; I just expected that the strikers would have higher melee basic damage potential, primarily because most of my 4E experience s theoretical. I'm in a few games, but haven't gotten to try out much, and I suppose I just build differently for strikers.

Sensing the shift in the battle as Matlal attacks the fiend from behind, Andrec makes a strategic attack, taking advantage of the ebast's distraction. Unfortunately, the alien nature of the strange monster provides it some unnatural awareness, as it moves sinuously away from all attacks. In a flurry of concerted movement, Andrec and Matlal strike again and again, the monster moving away from their hits more often than not. When the winded fighters draw back to defensive postures, the monster has taken little damage, and though wounded, Andrec's resolve remains solid.

[sblock=Tomolak]Considering the inspiring word; Jarel's shielding power recharged on his last turn and so he able to reduces the damage the Usurper's minion inflicted you to only 1 (9-8).

You probably don't want to use your IW in that context since Andrec would only be at 18/22. not 10/22[/sblock]

Mesa couldn't believe how this thing just seemed to shrug off the blows landing on it. Digging deep, he found that flickering, fragile flame within himself. It was a piece of Nature Herself, a fragment of Her mighty spirit that resided in every living being. He reached out to it, and then through it, seeking a similiar flame in the monster before him.

At first, he found nothing. "Come on, where are ye, ye bloody thing..." Finally, he felt something respond. What he did next, he hated doing but it was necessary. He pushed his will out, directed through the spark within himself, and through it sent a simple thought.

"BURN!"

The spark in the beast didn't respond as he expected. There was no feeling of fire, no outpowering of life's energy from the beast. The effort left him shivering and empty, and it seemed to have had very little effect on the monster.

"What are ye?" he asked, hand on the ground to hold him up from the strain.
