[Sblock=Waiting]I'm holding my turn until other characters get into melee, so I can take best advantage of my abilities[/sblock]

"Try to get around them, hit them from both sides!"
[sblock=strategy]Flanking would be good. Try to keep high-damage Melee Basic characters like Matial nearer the main boss. Does anybody have a good ranged basic they keep handy?[/sblock]

Mesa moved to his left as he exited the hospital, using the columns as cover. It took a second for the scene to take form in his mind; this creature was killing (and worse!) the people around the hospital. The woman screaming in terror under the giant beast was the final straw.

"Oi! Ye get away from her, ye great ugly git!" Throwing his arms wide, he called lightning out of the sky, slamming into the ground in front of the beast. "That's right, look at me, ye bloody tosser..." Mesa's brow furrowed in concentration, and his form flowed like quicksilver into that of the panther, jaws bared in a deep snarl.

[sblock=Actions]Move Action: Move to I6.
Standard Action: Storm Spike on Usurper' Minion, +4 versus Reflex. 1d20+4=13,1d8+9.
Minor Action: Beast Form.[/sblock]

[sblock=Strategy]Flanking would be nice. If y'all want to hit reaper 2, I'll run interference on reaper one and the big ugly; that's the job of an in-close controller, lock down some of the enemies while your team kills the others, then pull back and lick your wounds. Or at least that's what I was told was the role of an in-close controller; I think my f2f party likes seeing how insane our tactics can get without killing us...[/sblock]

[sblock=Andrec]Everyone has moved and I have updated the position of the PCs.

Andrec spends one healing surge during the short rest.
Can you give us an idea of how close we are to the end of the encounter?

Why, the encounter is just starting! ;)

But if you ask if there will be other encounters before resting, there can't be.

This is a level +4 encounter. You pretty much have to use your dailies and both you and Montroya already enter this fight in the danger zone (HS-Wise) so even if I wanted to continue...

Your team will need to take a breather after this and will fulminate at all the nefarious things Rinch could be up to while you have to rest for a few hours.

Luckily you are just next to an hospital which will be the in-game justofication for an 'extended rest' lasting barely two hours.

Well, assuming you don't all die, of course.

[sblock=Tactics]Why didn't we do this before? Oh well. My angel of fire summon has a range of 5. Next round when I get in range, I'll summon in a flanking position. Anything that can slow the first reaper is good, especially if you can get out of charging range. Right now I'll be torn between summoning to help Mesa or summoning to focus fire on #1. Thoughts?[/sblock]

[sblock=Mal]Thanks, I missed the def, fixed![/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]I'm going to be moving into the dorms at college this weekend, and I can pretty much say I won't be available to post. I give Mal full permission to automate my character until Tuesday (prolly be back Monday, but just in case).[/sblock]

[sblock=sblock]Well, it's the 31st so I need to get this moving.

I decided to have Andrec charge the same reaper as Jarel;

He needed to make a charge because no one was within a single move range and he chose the one that was marked because, well, it's nice not to get hit when you have few HP!

PS: I try to never expand ressoruces (encounter power, daily, AP) while running a PC.
[/sblock]

Andrec charges a reaper fighting Jarel but misses.

The reapers fights back with hands that have turned wicked from corruption. Jarel fends off his opponent but Matlal suffers a vicious blow.

The Usurper's minion moves with surprising agility toward Jarel and Andrec and two tendrils lash above his henchman but neither can catch the heroes.

Andrec:

Move than charge
charge vs AC 19 (1d20+7+1=14, 1d8+4=6)

Reapers:
1: vs Jarel AC 21 2: vs Matlal AC 17 (1d20+10=14, 2d4+4=8, 1d20+10=18, 2d4+4=10) Jarel is missed, Matlal is hit for 10

Usurper's minion
1: Vs Jarel AC 21 2: VS Andrec AC 17 (1d20+8=13, 2d4+2=7, 1d20+8=11, 2d4+2=7) Not an impressive starts!

[sblock=Montroya]Here's a bonus info for the 28 religion check; be very wary of giving healing to a PC grabbed by the Usurper's minion tentacle. There is a chance he might steal the healing.[/sblock]

Reaper 2 : 39/47 Marked

Andrec : 19/22 [2] AP
Jarel Karn: 37/37 [8] AP
Matlal : 21/31 [8] AP
Mesa : 26/26 [6] AP
Montroya : 24/24 [1] AP

I took the liberty of spending some HS for Matlal and Mesa because it was a nio brainer. I didn't do it for Andrec. His situation is a bit trickier because he has only 3 HS left and would need 2 to get back to full health, so... What's your call Tom?

Reapers
Perception 11; blindsight 5
HP 47; Bloodied 23
AC 19; Fortitude 13, Reflex 15, Will 13
Resist 5 necrotic
OA : Shadow Claws (Standard, at-will)
+10 vs Armor Class; 1d4+4 damage +1d4 necrotic.

The Usurper's minion
Large
Perception 18
HP 156; Bloodied 78
AC 19; Fortitude 18, Reflex 18, Will 14
OA Tendril Lash

Jarel-karn furies starts to build up and strike at the Reaper. A lightning arc to the Usurper and wound him too. Jarel-karn quickly strike again at the reaper and the reaper fall down at his feet. The swordmage then close with the Usurper.

[SBLOCK=OOC]Minor: Promise Storm

Standard: Ligthning Clash vs Reaper. Secondary vs. Usurper (1d20+9=20, 2d8+6=17, 1d20+9=21, 1d8+1d6+6=10)

Action Point: Booming Blade vs Reaper. (1d20+9=19, 2d8+6=15)

Move: Shift to M9.

I'll be offline for teh next week probably. Almost no chance to post. Anyway, I have only At-will left now, and second wind.[/SBLOCK]
