  • Steward of the Court

The Steward of the Court is responsible for:
    • Overseeing the staffing, provisioning, and defense of royal fortresses.
    • Organizing court functions.
    • Providing for housing and the needs of guests of the crown.
    • On the Feast of the Stag, formally thanking followers of Malar upon their return with freshly killed stags that will be butchered, cooked and given to the hungry within Suzail's walls, should no blood royal (member of the Obarskyr family) be present at the time to perform the task.

    Office Holders
    ? - 147 DR
    • Lord Theldrin Rallyhorn
    • During Theldrin's tenure, his responsibilities encompassed the Royal Keep in Castle Obarskyr (a much smaller structure than today).
    • Theldrin served the kings Daravvan, Dorglor, Embrold, and Irbruin.
    • Threldrin's rod of office, a rod consisting of black metal inset with emeralds and rubbies, and topped with spheres of gold, was burried with him in a vault below the Royal Palace.
    • According to Ed Greenwood, "Lord Theldrin was an urbane, able courtier with an eye for details. He saw to it that warmed towels, large and soft houserobes, flasks of fine sherry, and fresh flowers were placed in guests chambers."
    • Additionally, "Over the years, Theldrin's raven-black hair turned gray, then shot through with white, and finally snow-white and very thin, but its page-boy cut (and his carefully-trimmed moustache) never changed. Nor did the depth of the green of his eyes. He was thin, of average height, and always immaculately and elegantly dressed in the richest of conservative fashions."
    147 DR - 155 DR
    • Nadeira Dathwynter
    • Nadeira previously served as Lord Rallyhorn's amanuensis (i.e., secretary).
    • Retired from her position after marrying.
    • She persued her love of fashion design and raised a family in retirement.

    155 DR - 185 DR
    • Brodrath Yentower
    • A political appointee who rose to the challenge of his office and held it for three decades.
    • Remembered as a stickler for detail who fussed over every detail (what we in the real world would call a micromanager).
    • If Brodrath had a sense of humor, none saw it.
    • At the time of Brodrath's appointment the Yentowers were a rising family in Marsember.
