Riardon reaches the bottom of the spiral staircase to the sounds of clanking metal, electric explosions, and cries of fury and pain. Before he can figure friend from foe, a man-sized insectoid rushes up, stopping just in front of him to retrieve a pack of weapons and implements lying on the ground.

As Tikchik crosses the room to retrieve his pack, he spots another prisoner in the final cell. He is a dwarf of medium age, well built, but extremely emaciated and abused.

The two kobold guards continue to pursue Sheng, trying to flush him from his cloud, but their efforts continue to prove fruitless.

The scout in corner sends a burst of storm into the space between Gensai and Sheng, sending Sheng, unconscious, to the ground, and seriously wounding Gensai. Then he turns to manipulate a catch within a crevice in the rock wall. His hand slips, however, and he cannot complete the task, "Shuiblith!" he curses.

The sudden and unexpected appearance of the swordmage in the middle of the prison room startles the scout next to him, "Svabol wer uoinota! Svaklar tira wux confn de!?" The reptile reacts instinctively sliding under the stocks to a spot in between Gensai and and the fallen body of Sheng. Lost in the smoke, and not knowing where anyone is the scout decides to blanket the area in electrical fire. Gensai convulses as the crushing blow of electricity courses through his nervous system, threatening to tear neurological fiber out from the inside.[sblock=Enemy Actions]

OOC: What are the rules for the fog/smoke on the map? Who has already used second wind? Riardon's potions only give back 10 HP, but he has en encounter with an attached healing, an encounter healing and 1 inspiring word left.

Gensai deflects some of the electricity from the second blow. Bleeding he glanced over at the insectoid. "If I'm not mistaken, we have a common enemy. I swear no harm to you, if you help us."

Without waiting for an answer, Gensai shouted, "Master Riardon! Down here! Ignore the insect, and target the Kobolds!"

[sblock=IA]
Channeling Shield on Gensai, IA on Wyrmscout 2 attack: You reduce the damage the target takes from the triggering attack by 8 (5 + Con mod). The next successful attack you make before the end of your next turn deals 3 (Con Mod) extra damage equal.

I would have used it on Sheng, but as R1 pointed out, I don't know him yet.

GM: I believe Gensai has also used his second wind.

The smoke is a Deep Shroud power that was cast by Sheng, which requires him to spend a minor action to sustain it. If he is not revived before the end of his next turn, the Deep Shroud will dissipate. As it stands, the shroud is the only thing that made Sheng last as long as he did. Otherwise the Kobold Hordes would have dropped him long ago.

OOC: Indeed, I used my second wind already.

Updated my flavor text a bit in the IA post.

Is Sheng's turn automatically last? I'm not sure that smoke helps me any (or maybe it does, and I just don't get it)

OOC: Has anyone a problem if I metagame to save Sheng's life?
If not I will enter and use Inspiring Word on Sheng and Rousing Words on Gensai, sacrificing my standard action for more healing.
