How would you divvy up the material in the core books?

If we can't have a five book model - which is entirely possible - then I agree that the following model would be good: Book 1 - Player Rules, DM Rules Book 2 - Spells, Magic Items Book 3 - Monsters I think that Book 1 would only need to include a sampling of 0, 1st and 2nd level spells. Enough...

How would you divvy up the material in the core books?

I would probably divide it into 5 books. The Player's Handbook: Includes all the information that you need to create a character. Includes stat blocks for familiars and mounts and such, as well as prestige classes, replacement levels, alternate classes, and so on. In order to make this book...

Your favorite alternate D&D magic system?

Arcana Unearthed / Evolved has a much more flexible Vancian system - however it is still easy to learn and players who don't too many changes can still accept it. Elements of Magic & Elements of Magic:Mythic Earth are my prefered system - but none of my players are willing to make the switch.

New Dungeon Tiles - what do you want to see?

Another vote for round rooms. Way too many places have round rooms to not include them. Other than that, I love all the sets so far.

    A Vulture-like race

You could always use the Aarakocra from Races of Faerun.

    RIP: Good Music Albums

There are a couple that I have to add: Green Day - American Idiot (Great album full of great songs - you should listen to it from beginning to end) Evanescence - Fallen

    I've finished reading Ptolus!

I read it cover to cover last summer when I got it. Alas, retention has also been a problem with me. As I am going to start running a campaign there soon, I have been flipping through the book again - and still loving it.

    Drinking and gaming?

It doesn't happen very often, but every now and then someone has a beer, or we break open a bottle of scotch.

Weapons you wished you'd see sometimes.

We have a character in our group who uses a double-sword. He was built from the ground up with this weapon in mind. He can be VERY effective with it.

    Vermont and its borders

Im on the south shore of Montreal - about an hour and a half from Burlington (depending on how fast you drive)

    Tell me about Montreal...

You can get by in Montreal fine without speaking French - although it depends on which part of Montreal you are living in - the west end of the island, most of Laval, downtown, and most of the south shore of Monteal are fine. The rest of the island, and the surrounding areas will be a little...

    Plot ideas, pick your favorite.

I think that they are all valid options - with the right players. Personally, I voted for #2 - The Great Race. In fact, you could even call it an "Amazing Race", and use some of the ideas from the show. Instead of just making it a race around the world, you need to make sure that there are lots...

    Project: D&D20Modern

You may want to look at Grim Tales from Bad Axe Games. It is pretty much exactly what you are looking for.

Best Value for Money RPG Purchase

The Shackled City Adventure Path book. Hands down. My players and I have been having a blast with that adventure for about 9 months now - and we are not quite half-way through yet.
