Where is allowed under invisibility? Book and page number please. And the instances i have in my game are invisible characters casting entangle, web and stone spikes in empty areas to block movement. If no one is there r they attack spells, and do they cause u to become visible? I can't see...

So darklone, it is not whether the spell could cause damage, or has a saving throw, but that is does cause damage or forces a saving throw that makes it an attack. If i fireball an empty area do i become visible. If i do i fail to see how that is different to a wall of fire, which has a damage...

According to the rules (DMG pg 292) all spells ignore Damage Reduction. Some spells are listed as doing certain types of damage (Evard's Black Tentacles does bludgeoning, Stone spikes piercing) but this doesn't make any difference as they ignore the DR that makes certain monsters harder to hurt...
