    Players Guide to the Wilderlands

I read this and was completely enthused. In fact I still am. But once I started actually playing in a wilderlands campaign it became obvious that there are some rules that will definitely need some tweaking. Amazon Warriors, for instances. They are the uber-race. They have no level adjustment...

1st monk feats: Stunning Fist or Improved Grapple

I've played 2 monks since 3e came out, and both started with both of these feats. I'd say definately take both if you can.

    Dragonhide Armour

Isn't that reason enough? :) Seriously, it's great for Druids, and has a decent strength... I wouldn't take it over higher powered armor though.

D&D 3E/3.5 [3.5] New to the druiding world

Future meaning when? :) Dwarves can be diplomatic. There has to be a leader in every clan. *Feels roleplaying opportunity arise.*

    Dragon and Material Components

Never even thought about this before... I've been giving them EM from the start of 3.0 just because it seems to fit the context of the Dragon archetype.

[Help Plz] Do grapple checks include penalties/bonuses from defenseive fighting, etc?

Re: Re: [Help Plz] Do grapple checks include penalties/bonuses from defenseive fighting, etc? Stone Colossus requires the attack or full attack action as stated in Races of Faerun pg. 169.

    question about familiars

Very much agreed. We had this same situation come up a few weeks back and I allowed him to res.

A Dwarf Druid Summoner... A man after my own heart.

Bag of Holding and Detect Magic

I agree with Steveroo. It's a non-dimensional space, meaning it's not of this dimension. My interpretation of the detect magic spell is that it can not see through dimensional barriers. Of course, if the Bag of Holding is open at the time that detect magic is used, then I would probably allow...

    D&D 3E/3.5 [3.5 Paladin] Detect Evil now a spell?

"As the spell" just means that the wording of the spelllike ability is the same as the wizards spell.

Kansas City Game Day - A success! Photos on page 12.

Heh, I set up game days all the time in Lynchburg, VA, but not in the name of EN World just yet. I'd love to do something like this, but I think I've tapped the majority of the D&D players in my area (caps around 13 usually).

    XP Awarding

I have a massive XP system for Role Playing that I would rather not get into here. But, suffice to say, we have gone 3 or 4 sessions in a row for one of my campaigns without fighting any monsters. Role-playing rewards, to me, are just as important as fighting.

    Rangers and PrCs

You can do this even if he doesn't have 3rd level... IE: 2nd level Ranger takes a prestige class that gives +1 to current caster level. He would now be casting as a 3rd level Ranger. Since he doesn't have any spells at this level, that's fine. If he goes back and takes another level of...

    Characters in the same square...

D'oh... Another one of those "I've been doing it wrong for almost 2 years now" things. I'll have to break the bad news to the group. I guess it's time for that 8th read of the PHB

How to represent clerics of the patron of magic?

Same here. There was a wizard in one my games parties that was also a priest of Mielikki.

    Entangle = Plant Growth?

It's a magical plant, kind of like summoning a magical beast. There does not need to be any undergrowth for this spell to work. In CRPG's (Icewind Dale / Baldur's Gate / Neverwinter Nights) and my own campaign we have used this over stone floors.

Infinitely Opening Locks and Bashing Doors

The rules are written that you can retry and retry, because they assume that after about 10 misses they will either give up or take 20. If they take 20 and wait around the time to attempt this, and the attempt still fails, end of encounter.... The reason you can try over and over again is...

    Surprise round and pounce

I'm assuming the Sphinx has a higher movement rate than most adventurers... And packings of them would be even more nasty. Either way, you can be aware and out of range of the party for the first part of the round. Then it's time for adventurer soup.

    Surprise round and pounce

If you are using the Pounce ability, the surprise round does not count as the first round of combat. At least that is the way that we have been playing it. A surprise is not a full round, as you can only take a partial action. If this were a regular combat with a normal first round then yes...
